The total cost of one unit of vertical garden is rupees 23340. The government is going to provide a 75% subsidy on the amount which is rupees 17505. The rest of the 25% amount which is rupees 5835 is to spend by the applicant himself. Objective Of The Scheme
The objective of the government behind the vertical garden project is to make people capable to grow safe to eat vegetables on their own. This scheme has been started to ensure the food and nutritional security of the people.

- Families can grow safe to eat vegetables of their own choice
- The applicant will get a 75% subsidy (Rs. 17505) on the cost. They just have to put 25% on their own for the project
- Arka vertical garden is a base frame of 1 square meter area only
- The base frame has the capacity to hold 16 pots of different sizes and shapes
- The ports are fitted at four different height levels
- At the top of the structure, a 25-liter capacity plastic container is mounted for water storage and with drip lateral microtubes and drippers to irrigate the plant
- Along with the Arka vertical garden structure, Seeds and materials for plant nutrition and plant protection are also be provided under the scheme
- About 3:30 vegetable garden units are going to establish in the corporate areas of the state.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be native of Corporation regions of one of the following districts
- Ernakulam,
- Thiruvananthapuram,
- Kollam,
- Trichur,
- Kozhikode,
- Kannur
- An applicant who wishes to cultivate vegetables to meet the day-to-day needs
- Applicants can grow vegetables like chili, brinjal, tomato, radish, leggings like french beans, kurta beans, and leaf vegetables like palakamaranthus coriander, etc.
Selection Procedure
The selection of the candidate is depending on the basis of the application submission date. Selection is depending on a First come First serve basis.
