- Based on the job strength of EPFO authorized establishments, the central government bears both the employees’ share i.e., 12 % of wages, and the employers’ share i.e., 12 % of wages of contribution payable under ABRY, or only the employees’ share i.e., 12 % of wages.
- An employee with a monthly income of fewer than 15,000 rupees who was not working in any EPFO-registered establishment before October 1, 2020, and who did not have a Universal Account Number or EPF Member account number before October 1, 2020, is eligible for the advantage under the scheme.
Features of Atmanirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana
Some of the key features of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana 2022 are as follows:
- The plan will go into effect on October 1, 2020, and will last until June 30, 2021.
- This would benefit those with a monthly salary of less than Rs 15,000, who have never been a member of EPFO, or who have lost their job between March 1 and September 30.
- Employees who join a registered EPFO institute will be eligible for this scheme’s benefits.
- Their company will receive benefits, and those with more than 50 employees will be required to hire five new employees.
- A company with fewer than 50 employees will be required to hire two new employees under the scheme.
- People whose monthly salary is less than Rs 15,000 and who are registered with EPFO will benefit from this scheme.
- Employees working in organizations with more than 1,000 employees will see a government contribution of 12% of their share of the EPFO.
- The government will give both employees and employers in organizations with fewer than 1,000 employees a 24 percent stake in EPFO for two years under this Yojana.
Eligibility Criteria
Employers and employees must fulfill the eligibility criteria put forward by the Government of India. The eligibility criteria for Atmanirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana 2022 are as follows:
- Establishment Eligibility Criteria:
- This scheme will benefit all establishments that are registered with EPFO and plan to recruit new workers
- Organizations that have a reference base of 50 employees or less and have hired at least two new employees will be eligible to participate in this scheme.
- If the organization has a reference base of 50 or more employees, it will be eligible to participate in this scheme if at least 5 new employees are hired.
- Employees’ eligibility for the Self-Reliant India Employment Scheme
- This scheme is only available to new employees hired between October 1, 2020, and June 30, 2021.
- The advantage will be paid for the salary month wherein the employee is employed in any of the eligible organizations under this scheme.
- Every new employee is required to have an Aadhaar-seeded Universal Account Number.
- If an employee’s monthly income exceeds 14999 rupees at any point in time, he or she will be ineligible.
