About British Council India

The British Council India was established in 1993 and designed by rewind architect Charles Correa. This is the United Kingdom’s international organisation which provides education opportunities and cultural relations to talented students. Eligibility Criteria

• An applicant must be a woman.
• The candidate must be a permanent resident of one of the eligible countries listed.
• The candidate must hold a passport.
• An applicant must meet the entry requirements of a UK higher education institute.
• An applicant must have filled all the documents correctly.
• The preference will be given to the candidates who have not had any International exposure before this scholarship.
• The candidate must meet the English language requirement of the UK higher education institute.
• The candidate must be following and take benefit from a UK postgraduate taught courses
• The candidate must have not studied previously at a degree level or higher in the UK.
• The candidate must have not lived recently in the UK or must have done distance learning at a UK university.
• An applicant did not receive any financial support of funding toward their study program in the UK.
• The student must be active in the field with work experience.
• The student should be giving the future contribution to capacity building and socio-economic advancement of their home country.
• The candidate must have agreed to share their data with the British Council for assessment and promotional activity.
• The candidate must agree to return to their country after completing 2 years of scholarship.

Ineligibility Conditions

• An applicant who holds dual British citizenship is not eligible.
• A former employee or a relative of the employee of the government and the Department of Science Innovation and Technology is not eligible.
• The employee, a former employee, or a relative of the employee of the British Council scholarship for women in STEM are not eligible.
• The students who are currently receiving financial support or funding towards study programs in the UK from other sources are not eligible.
• The candidates who have studied previously in the UK with funding from a UK Government fund at scholarship or a UK institutional scholarship are not eligible.
