The Directorate of Education in Delhi has launched a new program, Delhi Nursery Admission 2023-24, as part of the government’s initiative to provide education to everyone in the country. The Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi, is the authority in charge of the Nursery Admission process in Delhi. Applicants who meet the program’s eligibility requirements can apply for admission. The admissions process for Open seats (not EWS/DG/CWSN) is currently underway. About Delhi Nursery Admission
The Delhi State Government will fund the beneficiaries’ preschool education under this program. Admission will be available in the nursery class of a Delhi government-approved school. As per the Right to Education Act of 2009, Parents can choose between 75 percent open quota seats and 25 percent seats reserved for EWS/DG categories when enrolling their children in this school. In Delhi, there are 1800 private schools with approximately 1.25 lakh Nursery admission seats. On 20th January 2023, the Delhi Directorate of Education will release the first list of selected candidates for Delhi Nursery Admissions 2023. The points-based system will be used to assign marks to the list. Parents and guardians can access the list at the edude.nic.in, the Directorate of Education’s official website. From 21st to 30th January 2023, parents can submit written/email/verbal queries related to the allotment of points to their wards for the first list.

The primary goal of Delhi Nursery Admission is to provide financially deprived and impoverished children with the option of enrolling in nursery school through the official website. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants who want to apply for the Delhi Nursery Admission must fulfill the eligibility criteria put forward by the Government of India. The eligibility criteria for Delhi Nursery Admission are as follows:
- As of March 31, 2021, the applicant for Nursery or Pre-School must be 3 to 5 years old, KG or Pre-Primary must be 4 to 6 years old, and Class I must be 5 to 7 years old.
- The applicant must be a Delhi permanent resident.
- A family’s annual income should not exceed one lakh rupees.
- Applicants must be from a family of economically disadvantaged individuals or families.
- A disabled child with special needs, as defined by the ‘Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995
- Transgender
- Orphans as defined by the Juvenile Justice Act
- The school will release application forms in either online or offline mode for admission to general category seats (maximum 75 percent seats)
- HIV-positive or HIV-affected children
- The application form for the EWS/DG category will only be available online.

No, you don’t need to submit an income certificate in order to apply for EWS. Only one of these documents is required.
Yes, you are eligible for submitting an application for EWS, If your BPL card does not contain your child’s name.
Your income certificate’s expiration date is printed right there on the document. If it has, you can reapply to the Revenue Department for the issuance of a new income certificate by selecting “Applied For” in the online application and entering the receipt or application number from the old income certificate.
