Legislative Assistance to Members of Parliament LAMP Fellowship is a unique and exciting opportunity for the young and growing minds of India to be aware and learn about law-making and public policy. LAMP Fellows will be mentored by one of the parliament members and work with them full-time with the assigned MP during the given year, starting from the monsoon session of Parliament till the end of the Budget session. The main role of a LAMP Fellow is to provide extensive research support to his or her MP for the Parliament work. This will include drafting parliamentary questions for MP, Preparing the MP’s speech for zero-hour debates, raising matters of public importance, drafting private members’ bills, etc.
What Is Lamp Fellowship 2023
At the time when Parliament is not in session, LAMP Fellows will engage with policymakers, experts from various think tanks, academicians from several leading universities, and leaders from diverse public policy institutions for participation in workshops on important policy and development issues. What is the Role of a LAMP?
LAMP Fellowship provides an opportunity to be mentored by a Parliament Member for a period of 10 to 11 months. During the course of the Fellowship, the Fellows will get the opportunity to engage with experts from diverse sectors and understand important policy and development issues of the country. The fellows’ primary task involves providing research support to the Member of Parliament to whom they will be assigned to. A significant amount of the research a LAMP Fellow will undertake will be Parliament-related, searching questions asked in Parliament by the MP, policy discussion, inputs for bills, and standing committee meetings.
Fellows are also required to provide background research for the conference and media events attended by MPs. While some MPs may delegate constituency-related work to their LAMP Fellows, taking up such work is subject to the agreement between the MP and the LAMP Fellow.
LAMP Fellows research topic include various task such as-

Things Required during Application Form Filling
There are a few things that are required before filling up the form and these are:
- Academic score/grades (UG and upwards)
- 2) Details of work experience/internships/ volunteer work
- 3) A 500-word essay justifying your candidature for the LAMP Fellowship
- 4) A 500-word essay on a policy or law
Eligibility Criteria
PRS seeks to engage with highly-motivated and bright people for the LAMP Fellowship.
- LAMP Fellowship is open to candidates who are 25 years of age or below
- Candidates must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in any academic discipline.
- Only Indian citizens are eligible for the LAMP Fellowship.

- If you’re interested in applying under LAMP Fellowship, then you have to submit your application at 11:45 p.m. not later than this on Sunday, January 9 2022.
