Following the provisions of the National Food Security Act of 2013, the Pradhan Mantri Matritva Vandana Yojana 2022 is a maternity benefit program that is applied in all districts of the country. Every pregnant woman in our country receives a stipend. The Ministry of Women and Child Development is in charge of implementing this program, which began in 2017. The government intends to provide a monetary incentive of Rs 6000 to pregnant women and lactating mothers for the family’s first living child if they meet certain requirements about Maternal and Child Health. The main objectives of the scheme 2022 are as follows:

- The mother is eligible for a 5,000 cash reward, which will be paid out in three installments. The first installment of Rs 1000/- is due on early pregnancy registration at an Anganwadi Centre (AWC) / approved Health facility, and the second installment of Rs 2000/- is due after six months of pregnancy and the child has received the first cycle of BCG, OPV, DPT, and Hepatitis – B, or its equivalent/substitute, and the third installment of Rs 2000/- is due after childbirth is registered.
- Women who are part of the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) for Institutional Delivery are also eligible. Under the JSY, women are entitled to maternity benefits. The maternity benefits are covered by the JSY incentive of 6,000 rupees per woman.
Features of Pradhan Mantri Matritva Vandana Yojana

- In the event of the birth of a first child in the family, this policy applies to women who are pregnant and breastfeeding women
- The Pradhan Mantri Matru Yojana PMMVY will be executed using a web-based MIS software tool that will be centrally deployed. The tool will be created in collaboration with employees from the Anganwadi Centre (AWC) and ASHA/ ANM. These employees will serve as the implementation’s focal point.
- Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers will receive a Rs 6,000 cash incentive in their bank account.
- The implementing department is the relevant state’s Department of Social Welfare or Department of Women and Child Development. The scheme will not be implemented in the seven states or Union Territories by this authority.
- The scheme will be implemented in seven states by the State Health Department and Family Welfare or the Department of Health. Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Daman & Diu, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, and Meghalaya are some of the states in this category.
Eligibility Criteria

- First of all, go to the PMMVY website of the Pradhan Mantri Matritva Vandana Yojana and register yourself
- Within 150 days of submitting your application, you can register at a nearby Anganwadi Centre (AWC) or approved health facility.
- Now, fill out an application form 1-A or a PMMVY form at an Anganwadi Centre (AWC) or an approved health facility.
- The application form is free to download and print, and you can also get it from the Ministry of Women and Child Development’s website.
- At an Anganwadi Centre (AWC)/approved Health Facility, submit the application form along with the required documents and an undertaking/consent signed by both you and your husband.
- After 180 days of pregnancy, you can claim the second installment by submitting Form 1-B along with a copy of your MCP card that shows at least one ANC.
- You must submit Form 1-C along with a copy of the childbirth registration report and a copy of the MCP card showing that the child has completed the first cycle of immunization to receive the third installment.
- Log into PMMVY CAS Software, click on the ‘Third Installment’ tab, and fill out Form 1-C to claim the third installment, which is made after the child’s birth and completion of the child’s first cycle of immunization.
