Punjab Doorstep Ration Delivery Scheme 2023 Punjab State which has earned the name of “Food Basket of the Country” & “Granary of India” has been contributing 40 percent of rice and 50-70 percent of wheat for the last two decades. Punjab is not only self-sufficient in producing food grains but also contributes around 60% of food grains to the central pool. Rationing is the controlled distribution of scarce resources, goods, or services, or an artificial restriction of demand. The families having an annual income of Rs. 1 Lakh or above, any member of the family possessing a four-wheeler, or the family aggregately holding more than 4 hectares of irrigated land are eligible to get white ration cards.
At the beginning of the month, there was a long line of people collecting rations from the Ration Shop. It will consume a lot of time, which they utilize for their work or household stuff. To overcome this problem “Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Ji has made a great announcement that ration will be delivered to the very doorstep of people and it will immensely benefit the poor”.

Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann Ji on Monday announced the rollout of the Punjab Doorstep Ration Scheme. From now the poor will no longer need to stand in queues as good quality rations will be delivered to their doorsteps. The Chief Minister also said that officers will make a phone call to the beneficiaries and rations will be delivered to their homes as per their convenience and availability. If the ration depot is very close to their home, then one may fetch the ration from there.
Bhagwat Mann also said that the Arvind Kejriwal government has started this scheme in Delhi too, “but unfortunately it was stopped. But in Punjab they are going to implement the scheme and will run it successfully”. After 75 years of the country’s independence, the poor and common people still have to stand in long queues outside the ration depots to get their rations. In this age of digitalization where items of daily need including food items, are delivered to people’s doorsteps with one phone call. But on many occasions, poor people, most of whom are home daily Wagers have to give up their day’s work for rationing. The people who are leaving hand to mouth if he has to leave his day’s work to fetch ration, how sad it is.

Eligibility Criteria
- The beneficiary should be from the state of Punjab.
- It is mandatory to have a ration card.
- The head of the family or the beneficiary should have an account in the bank.
- The beneficiary applying for the scheme can have only one ration card. If there is a ration card in his/her name, first they have to surrender the card and then they get a ration on their doorstep.
- The applicant must have to qualify for the income slabs under the AAY and PHH Schemes.
