WHO Fellowship on COVID-19 Recovery 2022: Apply Online, Eligibility

WHO Fellowship on COVID-19 Recovery To prevent some of these interruptions, the World Health Organization (WHO) established guiding guidelines for vaccination programs during the COVID-19 pandemic in November 2020. The difficulties of conducting vaccination programs in the face of major interruptions at a time when COVID-19 vaccines were unavailable was the emphasis of those guiding principles. WHO issued new guiding principles for immunization recovery, resiliency building, and strengthening in 2021 and beyond in April 2021.

WHO Fellowship on COVID-19 Recovery

To help national and sub-national immunization professionals plan and implement initiatives for the recovery and development of their countries’ vaccination programs, WHO, in collaboration with Sabin’s Boost Community, is offering a fellowship program for national and sub-national immunization employees.

WHO Fellowship on COVID-19 Recovery 2022

Essential health services have been disrupted in nations of all regions and income levels since the commencement of the COVID-19 epidemic. Immunization programs were disrupted in a variety of methods, including permanent locations, outreach sessions, and immunization campaigns. As a result, many children missed immunizations during this time period, and others still haven’t received all of their required vaccines, leaving them vulnerable to vaccine-preventable illnesses (VPDs).

WHO, in collaboration with Sabin’s Boost Community, is sponsoring a fellowship program to help vaccination personnel at the national and subnational levels put all of these concepts into reality by assisting them in the recovery and improvement of their nations’ vaccination systems. This cohort will begin a six-month program on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, that will include a learning engagement series, the development of a strategic plan, and 1:1 mentorship support from immunization specialists from the conceptual stage of a project proposal through execution.

Objective of WHO Fellowship on COVID-19 Recovery

WHO, in partnership with Sabin’s Boost Community, is offering a fellowship program for national and sub-national immunization staff to support them as they plan and implement activities for the recovery and strengthening of their countries’ immunization programs.

Benefits of WHO Fellowship on COVID-19 Recovery

  • Develop Your Skills and Become An Advocate & Leader: The fellowship will begin on Wednesday, May 11 at 1:00 PM GMT with two months of mandatory weekly live engagements led by WHO staff and immunization experts on topics related to rebuilding routine immunisation, such as catch-up vaccination, integration, and life course immunization. Fellows will connect with experts and peers during these sessions to improve their skills and knowledge in these crucial areas.
  • Make a plan for implementation and carry it out: Fellows will construct and submit a COVID-19 recovery strategy plan throughout the live engagement series. Participants who have well-thought-out plans will be considered for a mentoring program in which they will work one-on-one with experts in the area to further develop and implement their strategies, with the possibility of publishing their case studies.
  • Interact with an Amazing Cohort: Fellows will be part of a worldwide cohort of dedicated immunization professionals who are facing similar issues and will be able to work together to overcome them.

Fellows must attend all live sessions, present a strategic plan, and, if selected, engage in the mentorship program through the execution of their plan to obtain a certificate of completion for the program.
