The main purpose behind the ONGC sports scholarship scheme is to help people to get financial benefits so that they can pursue sports and other passions that they have along with the studying that they are doing. The students can apply for the scholarship now. The main motive behind the development of this scholarship is to help the people so that they can get a scholarship on the basis of their talent and they can continue their education alongside their passion. Eligibility, Age Criteria & Duration of Scholarship

The applicant must for the following eligibility criteria in order to successfully apply for this scholarship and get all of the benefits which are available in this is scholarship:

• The sportsperson must be an Indian citizen.
• The applicant must not be receiving any scholarship or stipend from any other organization during the scholarship period.
• The scholarship is open to sportspersons between the ages of 14 to 25 years old, except for Chess, Gymnastics, and Swimming, where the minimum age is 10 years old.
• The maximum age for receiving the scholarship is 25 years old, and applicants up to the age of 24 years old as of April 1 of the year of the scholarship can apply.
• The scholarship will be granted for FY 2023-24.
• The scholarship is merit-based, and applicants need to apply every year.

Scholarship Amount

Benefits & Facilities Available

• Sportspersons who are on scholarship will have the opportunity to represent the ONGC Team in PSPB/AIPSSPB tournaments and other competitions within the country, subject to the direction of the Head of Sports.
• The players will be provided with TA/DA and all the necessary expenses related to their participation in the tournaments.
• Sportspersons on scholarship will also be given playing kits that have the ONGC logo. These kits must be worn by the players during their participation in competitions.
• Scholarship holders can obtain an individual health insurance cover of Rs. 5,00,000/- (Five lakhs only) for themselves. The individual must acquire the required health insurance coverage on their own, and ONGC will reimburse the premium amount up to Rs. 7,000/-.
• ONGC will not be held responsible for any loss, damage, injury, or disability caused to any sports scholarship holder. Additionally, ONGC will not indemnify any sports scholarship holder towards such loss, damage, injury, or disability that may arise or occur while performing any sports activity.

Withdrawal of Scholarship

ONGC has the authority to terminate the scholarship of any sportsperson if they have provided false information during the application process, submitted fake certificates, or engaged in improper conduct that goes against the values and principles of the organization. The discontinuation of the scholarship can also happen due to any other reason that the organization considers appropriate. It could include poor academic performance, lack of commitment towards training and competitions, breach of contractual obligations, or any other reason that could negatively impact the reputation and interests of the organization. The withdrawal clause serves as a deterrent for sportspersons to engage in any activity that could jeopardize their scholarship and highlights the importance of honesty, discipline, and responsible behavior.
