What Is Maharashtra Post-Matric Scholarship 2024?

A new scheme is created by the Maharashtra government which is known as the Maharashtra Post-Matric Scholarship for Persons with Disability 2024. This is a prestigious scheme presented by the Maharashtrian government so that there can be proper involvement of physically disabled candidates in education because otherwise, they are not able to get proper opportunities. Objective Of Maharashtra Post-Matric Scholarship

The main objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to people who are suffering from any physical disability and are not able to continue their education due to the differences that they are facing in real life or in society. The educational terms will also improve through the development of this prestigious scheme and the people will be able to get an education because of the financial and monetary help provided by the Government of Maharashtra. This scheme will also create a passion for higher education and opportunity will be provided to the people to get an education. The scholarship will be provided in a transparent manner and with coordination with benefits.

Benefits Of Maharashtra Post-Matric Scholarship

The following benefits will be available under this scholarship:-

Maintenance Allowance is provided as per Group A, Group B, Group C, Group D, and Group E per month from admission date to exam date (max 10 months)
- Day Scholar:
  - Group A 550
  - Group B 530
  - Group C 530
  - Group D 300
  - Group E 230
- Hosteller
  - Group A 1200
  - Group B 820
  - Group C 820
  - Group D 570
  - Group E 380
Blind: Vachak Bhatta (Additional):
- Group A, B, C: 100
- Group D: 75
- Group E: 50
In addition to the maintenance allowance, all mandatory fees/ compulsory payable fees (Tuition Fees, Exam Fees & other Fees) by the student to the institutes cover under this scheme.
For Professional & Technical Education candidate must go for a practice tour then he gets an additional max500 Rs or whatever is applicable per year.(If the study tour is part of an educational course)
If Project is a mandatory part of the course then for printing and typing he gets an additional maximum of up to 600 Rs whatever is applicable per year, but the principal certificate is mandatory.
Candidates who are studying in Mphil and Ph.D. courses, get a maintenance allowance as per Post graduation Group A, B, C.
If the student takes admission up to the 20th of that month then the maintenance allowance is allow for this month.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria in order to apply for this prestigious scheme:-

A student should be disabled. (40% or above)
Students should be residents of Maharashtra.
Students should be Studying in a recognized University or Recognized institute.
The scholarship will not be applicable if the candidate fails or quit the same course in the applied course (incomplete course).
The Scholarship will not be applicable twice or a second time if the candidate applies on the criteria of HSC/SSC/Degree. (application should be in progressive format)(only one of the courses is allow)
Student studying in a recognized institute or college out of Maharashtra but he should be a resident of MH.
If a student is in Post-Graduation from the medical education field and is not allow to do practice outside of the institute then he is eligible.
If a student of arts, science & Commerce discontinues his course & applies for a professional course, a technical education certificate/diploma/degree is applicable for the scholarship. But except for group “A” if the candidate who fails the scholarship will not be applicable for the scholarship.
- For Group B, C, D, and E: If the student fails then he will not be eligible for this scheme.
- For Group A: If the student fails 1 time, he may be eligible for this scheme, but he will not be eligible if he fails a second time during the full-time education.
The candidate who takes distance education from a recognized uni/Institution where non-refundable fees have to be paid by the student such students are getting annual Rs. 500/- for books and material purchases.
Candidates only can apply to Shahu Maharaj Merit Schol with this Scheme and can’t apply for another scheme.
If a candidate is working full-time employment then he/she is not eligible.
If the candidate is from the Gov hosteller & he is not getting books and stationery from the hostel then he is eligible for an additional 1/3 amount of the maintenance allowance allowed for the hosteller.
The candidate residing in college/institute or any other recognized hostel & if he/she pays hostel fees then the candidate’s maintenance allowance will be given of hosteller rates.
