The Government of India has launched various types of minority scholarships for students who have completed their class 12th and want to study higher education. What Is Minority Scholarship?

Minority Scholarship has been launched to help children who have completed their class 12th and want to build their careers with higher education. Under this scholarship, monetary help will be provided to the student to continue their higher education without wearing about any financial hurdles. The students who clear the eligibility criteria can fill out the application form for any scholarship of his or her choice. This is a great opportunity for the student belonging to minority categories to achieve their goals and build their career. Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must for the following eligibility criteria to apply for the minority scholarship:-

• The student must be going to school/college/university to participate in this scheme.
• The annual income of the parents of that child should not exceed Rs 100000 to Rs 200000.
• He/She must belong to the below poverty line (BPL) category.
• The applicant must be a meritorious student to participate in the minority scholarship scheme.
• The purpose of this scheme is to encourage girl students of minority communities toward education.
• Applicants participating in this scheme are students up to the 10th standard.
• In this, the students studying in government and non-government educational institutions have got more than 50% marks in the last year.
• Those whose father’s annual income does not exceed one lakh, are eligible for Pre Matric Scholarship Scheme.
• Such students can avail of this scheme by receiving applications through the committee.
• The Post Matric Scholarship Scheme is provided for students from class XI to Ph.D.
• Only students who have scored more than 50% in the previous year can get its name.

Minority Scholarship Rewards Details

The following rewards will be provided to the candidates in this minority scholarship:-

• Pre-matric Scholarship

Admission and tuition fee	Admission fee for classes 6 to 10:INR 500 per annum for both hosteller and day scholars. Tuition fee for classes 6 to 19:INR 350 per month for both hosteller and day scholars.
Maintenance Allowance	For classes 1 to 5INR 100 per month for day scholars. For classes 6 to 10INR 600 per month for the hosteller and INR 100 per month for day scholars.

• Post Matric Scholarship

Admission and tuition fee	Admission and tuition fees for classes 11 and 12:INR 7000 per annum for both hostellers and day scholars. Tuition fee for technical and vocational courses of class 11 and 12 levels: INR 10,000 per annum for both hostellers and day scholars. Admission and tuition fee for UG and PG level is INR 3000 for both hosteller and day scholar.
Maintenance Allowance	For classes 11 and 12 including technical and vocational courses INR 380 per month for the hosteller and INR 230 per month for the day scholar.

• Merit-cum-means scholarship

Course Fee	INR 20,000 per annum subject to actuals whichever is less for both day scholars and hostellers.
Maintenance Allowance	INR 1000 per month for hostellerINR 500 per month for day scholar
Scholarship for listed institutes	There is a full course fee reimbursed for 85 listed institutes.

Renewal Process

The candidates can renew their scholarship by following the following renewal procedure:-

• Aspirants need to renew the awarded scholarship every year.
• The students must secure a minimum of 50% marks in the previous year’s examination to renew the scholarship.
• The officials do not release a merit list for renewal cases.

Terms and Conditions

The applicant must follow the following terms and conditions to apply for the scholarship:-

• Aspirants fulfilling the eligibility can only apply for any of the three minority scholarships.
• The students availing of the benefits of this scholarship cannot hold any other scholarship at the same time.
• The officials will transfer the course/tuition fee and maintenance allowance to the bank account of the aspirant.
• The officials will cancel the scholarship, in case of obtaining the same through a false statement.
• The scholarship stands canceled in case the student violates the school discipline or any other terms and conditions of the scholarship.
• The officials will not provide scholarships to more than two students from a family.
• Maintenance allowance will be available for both day scholars and hostellers.
• The continuation of the scholarship will depend on the score of the candidates.

Selection Criteria

The applicant will be selected based on the following selection criteria:-

• The officials will shortlist the aspirants for the scholarship based on their financial status.
• The selection committee will assess the applications of the candidates and shortlist the ones meeting their requirements for each scholarship.
• In case of similar income, the officials will select the older candidate for the scholarship.
• The officials will generate a merit list based on the income of the aspirants to communicate the result of the scholarship.
• On completion of the selection, the candidates will receive the reward as specified for each scholarship
• The officials earmark 30% of the scholarship for girl students of each minority community.
• In case of the non-availability of female students, the officials will transfer the scholarship to the male students in the concerned state or union territory.
• Students residing in a particular state or union territory will be eligible for the scholarship under the quota of that state/UT irrespective of their place of study.

• You have to register yourself at the official website of the national scholarship portal

• Click on the option called New Registration
• The registration form will be displayed on your screen

• Enter all of the details
• You have to enter all of your personal information and information regarding your academic qualifications.
• Upload all of the documents
• Successfully, register yourself
• Now you can log in using your credentials and apply for this scholarship.

Login for Fresh Application

• Go to the National Scholarship Portal.
• The homepage will open.
• Click on the Login option.
• A new application form for Login for Fresh Application will open.

• Enter the details like application id and password.
• Now click on the Login option.

Login for School/ Institute

• Go to the National Scholarship Portal.
• The homepage will open.
• Click on the Institute Login option.
• A new login form will open on the screen.

• Go to the National Scholarship Portal.
• The homepage will open.
• Click on the Search School/Institute option.
• A new page will open on the screen.

• Now select your institute state, district, and other details.
• The school/institute will open on the screen.

• Open the official website of the NSP.
• The homepage of NSP will open on the screen.
• Click on the New Registration option.
• A new page will open.
• Now you have to select the Scheme Wise Scholarship Sanctioned List option.
• A new applciation form will open.

• Select the scholarship type, state, ministry, and other details.
• Now select the submit option.

Track Application Status

• Go to the National Scholarship Portal.
• The homepage will open.
• Click on the Login option.
• Select the Fresh/Renewal Login option.
• Login with the details successfully.
• Now click on the Track Application Status option.
• Enter the application id and click on the Track option.
• The status will open on the screen.

Minority Scholarship Renewal Application Form

• Open the official website of the NSP.
• The homepage of NSP will open on the screen.
• Click on the New Registration option.
• A new page will open.
• Now you have to select the Apply for Renewal option.
• A renewal login form will open.

• Login with the details.
• Now the renewal form will open.
• Enter all the details and click on the submit option.

Update Mobile Number

• Open the official website of the NSP.
• The homepage of NSP will open on the screen.
• Click on the New Registration option.
• A new page will open.
• Now you have to select the Apply for Renewal option.
• Now you will see the option Update Mobile Number, Click on it.
• An update form for user details will open.

• Provide all the exact details and click on the Verify and Continue option.
• Update your mobile number.

Change Mobile Number

• Go to the National Scholarship Portal.
• The homepage will open.
• Click on the login option and select Fresh/Renewal Login option.
• A new form will open on the screen.
• Login with the details successfully.
• Now click on the Change Mobile Number option.
• Enter the otp sent to your previous registered mobile number.

• Enter the details in the application form.
• Now submit the application and get the number changed.

Important Points for Renewal Applicants

• After course completion, you can not apply for renewal.
• Renewal applicants must not fill as fresh, otherwise, it may lead to cancellation of the application.
• While updating mobile numbers, exact match information as the fresh applicant must be provided.
• Mobile numbers once updated will not change again.

Know Your AISHE Code

• Go to the National Scholarship Portal.
• The homepage will open.
• Click on the Know Your AISHE Code option under the Services option.
• A new form will open on the screen.

• Select the Institution type, State, District and University type.
• Now click on the Submit option.

View Nodal officer Details

• Go to the National Scholarship Portal.
• The homepage will open.
• Click on the Nodal officer Details option under the Services option.
• A new form will open on the screen.

• Select the Ministry, State, District and Scheme.
• Now enter the captcha code present on the screen.
• Click on the Submit option.

Track NSP Payment

• To track NSP Payment, the applicant needs to open the official website of pfms.
• The homepage of the website will open on the screen.

• Now from the homepage, go to the Track NSP Payment option.
• A new page will open on the screen.

• Now on this page, you have to enter all the details in the application form.
• After that, click on the Search option.
• The payment status will open on the screen

Know Your Payment

• To track NSP Payment, the applicant needs to open the official website of pfms.
• The homepage of the website will open on the screen.
• Now from the homepage, go to the Know Your Payment option.
• A new page will open on the screen.

• Now on this page, you have to enter all the details in the application form.
• After that, click on the Send OTP to the registered mobile number ption.
• On receiving, enter the OTP in the given box.
• Now click on the search option
• The payment status will open on the screen

View Complaint Status

• Go to the National Scholarship Portal.
• The homepage will open.
• Click on the Complaint Status option.
• A new form will open on the screen.

• Enter the application number and captcha code.
• Now click on the Check Status option.
