The chief minister of the Tamil Nadu state has launched a new phase of the scheme presented by them known as the Pudhumai Penn Scheme 2023. The chief minister has created a new face of the scheme at a function organized at Hindu College in the district and it will benefit around 1.04 lakh girls students in the Tamil Nadu State. This new scheme will be implemented by the social welfare and women empowerment department present under the Government of the Tamil Nadu state and it will provide proper opportunities to all of the girl’s students who are currently studying in classes 6 to class 12th at Government schools available in the Tamil Nadu state. This is a prestigious scheme presented by the Chief Minister to help the students who belong to the economically backward section of society.

A Latest update available by the Chief Minister of the Tamil Nadu State MK Stalin on Wednesday about the Pudhumai Penn Scheme 2023. In this new update which was presented by the organization, it is said that around 1.04 lakh girls students will be benefited through the development of the second stage of the scheme. The people will be able to apply for the scheme by visiting the official website and it is said that the beneficiaries will be getting financial assistance of Rs 1000 per month. The beneficiaries will be girls students who are currently studying in classes 6th to class 8th at government schools available in the Tamil Nadu state. The students will be provided with the opportunity to participate in the second stage of the scheme presented by the concerned authorities of the Tamil Nadu government. 

Objective Of Pudhumai Penn Scheme

There are a lot of objectives that will be fulfilled through the development scheme presented by the Government and one of the main objectives is to encourage students to resume their education. It is said that around 12000 students have resumed their education after a break following the introduction of the scheme presented by the Chief Minister of the Tamil Nadu state. The ratio of Higher Education enrollment has also increased by 25% as per the statistics presented by the government of the Tamil Nadu state and the ratio has been increasing ever since. The people will be able to apply for the schemes so that they can continue their education. Then they will be provided financial opportunities so that they can continue their livelihood.

Benefits Of Pudhumai Penn Scheme

• The scheme aims at providing financial assistance worth Rs 1,000 per month to girl students who had studied classes VI to XII at government schools.  
• It has been benefitting 1.16 lakh students already.

The applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria in order to apply for the scheme:-

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of the Tamil Nadu state
• The applicant must be a girl. 
• The applicant must be studying in classes 6 to 12th at Government schools in Tamil Nadu.
