Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria to successfully apply for the scholarship opportunity:-

• The applicant must belong to the OBC category
• The applicant must be studying in schools of UT Chandigarh from Class 1 to 10
• The applicant must have 60% or above attendance in the previous class.
• The applicant must be promoted from the previous class.
• The applicant must have an annual family income of not more than INR 2.5 lakh from all sources

Benefits Of Pre Matric Scholarship for OBC Students

The following benefits will be provided to the people who are applying for the prestigious scholarship scheme created by the government:-

• For day scholars – INR 100 per month for 10 months from class 1 to 10
• For Hostlers – INR 500 per month for 10 months from class 3 to 10
• An ad-hoc grant of INR 500 per student per annum to all students i.e. hostlers as well as day scholars

Pre Matric Scholarship Scheme for OBC Students Chandigarh 2024 Application Procedure

To apply for the scholarship we will have to follow the simple procedure given below:-

• The candidates will first have to visit the Pre Matric website of the national scholarship portal by clicking on the link given here

• The home page will open on your screen.
• Click on the option called New Registration

• The instructions will open on your screen.
• Tick mark the declaration.
• Click on the “Continue” option.
• Enter all of the details.
• Enter name, date of birth, mobile number, gender, email ID, bank details, etc.
• Enter the captcha code 
• Click the “Register” option.
• Now you have to log in using your credentials.
• Click on the option called Application Form

• The application form opens on the screen
• Enter details including the State of Domicile, Name of the student, Date of Birth, Community/ Category, Father’s Name, Aadhaar card Number, Mobile Number, Scholarship Category, Gender, Religion, Mother’s Name, Annual Family Income, Email ID, etc.
• Click on “Save & Continue”
• Upload the documents.
• Click on “Final Submission’’
• The application form will successfully submit.

Check Application Status

• The candidates will first have to visit the official website of the national scholarship portal by clicking on the link given here
• The home page will open on your screen.
• Click on the option called Previous Year Application Status.

• A new page will open on your screen.
• You need to select your year from the drop-down menu.
• A new page will open on your screen.
• Enter your application ID and password.
• Click on the option called Submit.
• The application status will open on your screen.

Terms and Conditions

The applicant must follow the following terms and conditions in order to successfully apply for the scholarship opportunity:-

• 30% of the scholarship seats are reserve for girl candidates.
• The bank account number should be in the name of the student applying for the scholarship only.
• The student applying for more than one scholarship/stipend in this Directorate or any other source for the same academic year will reject.
• The students may not allow to take up employment or render help to parents in their work during the courses of study.
• The aadhaar number must be seeded (linked) with the bank account in which the Scholarship amount is desired to be transferred.
• The scholarship will be renewed every year during the study. The award will be discontinued if a student fails to secure annual promotion except in case of unavoidable reasons to be certified by the competent authority of the scheme.
• The scholarship amount will be payable from the date of joining to the date of leaving the school, excluding the period of vacation, which will be about 10 months in a year except in the cases where the students enter late or leave early amid the academic year.
• The student can apply for only one particular Scheme during the same academic year.
• The award will be discontinued if a student fails to secure annual promotion except for unavoidable reasons to be certified by the competent authority of the scheme. 
• Migration from one institution to another is not allowed during the academic year except under exceptional circumstances and in the interest of students’ academic careers.
