UGC NEP Saarthi Scheme 2024 Timeline, Objective and Benefits

UGC NEP Saarthi Scheme 2024 was created in order to promote a new education policy. NEP SAARTHI stands for Student Ambassador for Academic Reforms in Transforming Higher Education in India. This is a new initiative which is taken by the UGC Organisation in order to involve the students to successfully implement the national education policy which was released in the year 2020. 300 students will be selected for the organization in order to promote the new education policy. Three students from each Institute will be considered for the scholarship scheme and they have to submit a brief write-up justifying the nomination done by the vice-chancellor, directors, and principal of the higher education institute. Objective Of UGC NEP Saarthi Scheme 2024

There are a lot of objectives that will be fulfilled through UGC NEP Saarthi Scheme such as the development of the national education policy created by the Indian government. The students will be selected on the basis of the nomination done by the principal and then the UGC organization will pick the student based upon the nomination and the write-up submitted by the organization. The students will be provided guidance so that they can develop the premises to spread the national education policy presented by the organization. Three Students from each Institute will be presented by the organization and they will be proper development opportunities to foster an environment where the students can engage with each other. Application Deadline

• The UGC has set a timeline for the NEP SAARTHI scheme, with nominations being invited in May 2023.
• The announcement of selected ambassadors in July 2023. The orientation for the NEP SAARTHI ambassadors will also take place in July 2023.

Eligibility Criteria

• Three students from each Institute will be considered for the scholarship scheme and they have to submit a brief write-up justifying the nomination done by the vice-chancellor, directors, and principal of the higher education institute.
• The nominated students are expected to have an outstanding personality, possess excellent communication skills, organizational capabilities for conducting outreach programmes, creativity, sense of responsibility along with being a team leader

Duties Of The Students

• The students will organize awareness drives, engage with student groups, and establish meaningful dialogues among students, faculty members, administrators, and the UGC. 
• The selected candidates will provide guidance to students and other stakeholders regarding NEP 2020 initiatives and collect feedback to enhance the implementation process.

Selection Procedure

• The UGC will select 300 NEP SAARTHIs from among the nominees and communicate it to the students. 
• The selected students will be given orientation and guided on how to carry out their roles effectively in hybrid mode.
• Nominations are open till June. 
• The NEP SAARTHIs will be announced in July when the orientation will also take place.

UGC NEP Saarthi Scheme 2024 Application Process

Reward Details

• The NEP SAARTHIs will get a certificate of recognition, will be mentioned in the UGC’s official social media handles and they will get invites to all relevant online events organized by the UGC as well as an opportunity to publish an article in the UGC newsletter.
