The Government of Kerala in collaboration with the Department of Minority Welfare has launched a new scholarship known as APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship Kerala. Under this scheme, the financial assistance will be provided to the student who belongs to the economically weaker section so that they would be able to continue the diploma courses without thinking about any financial hurdle. The main aim of launching the APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship Kerala is to provide educational opportunities to the children so that they would be able to build their own futures. Objective Of APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship Kerala

As we all know there are many students who due to their weak financial condition are not able to pursue their higher studies. And their dream of continuing higher education remains incomplete. Keeping this in mind the Minority Welfare of Kerala has launched APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship Kerala. Under this scheme, financial assistance will be provided to the students who want to pursue the diploma course without thinking about any financial hurdles. The main objective of launching this scheme is to relieve the student from the financial stress of studying further level courses

Rewards Under APJAK Scholarship Kerala

The following rewards will be provided to the selected students under APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship Kerala

• The student will be rewarded with a scholarship of Rs. 6,000 per year for a diploma course.
• The preference will be given to the BPL community.
• If there is no candidate left of the BPL category then the students who are falling under the noncreamy layer of minority communities will be taken under this scheme.
• This is scholarship will be distributed among the Muslim and Minority Communities in a ratio of 80:20
• 30% of the scholarship is reserved for girl participants.

Selection Criteria Of APJAK Scholarship

The following selection criteria are needed to avail of the benefit under APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship Kerala

• The scholarship will be given to the student on the basis of merit
• This is scholarship will be distributed in a ratio of 80:20 among the Muslim and minority communities
• If the BPL category student is not present then the preference will be given to the noncreamy layer minority section.

• Admission must be through a merit seat
• The applicant must fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned below
• The candidate must apply for the scholarship.
• Only the registered candidates can avail of the benefit under this scheme

APJAK Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the scholarship are as follows:

• An applicant must be a permanent resident of Kerala
• The candidate must have passed their class 12th examination
• He/She must be studying in a government or government-aided Polytechnic
• The applicant must belong to the BPL category or non-creamy layer
• He/She must have up a working bank account in any National Bank
• The annual income should not exceed more than Rs. 8 lakhs per annum
