What Is Fakir Mohan Scholarship 2024?

Odisha State Government desire to promote the Odia language in higher studies. To do so the government has introduced the Vyasakabi Fakir Mohan Odia Bhasa brutti scheme. Under this scheme, those students who are going to score 90% marks in Odia language in higher secondary or in degree level will get a scholarship. This is a one-time scholarship for the students to study the Odia language in higher studies. Selection of meritorious students will be made on the basis of the marks secured in the qualifying examination.

The scholarship opportunity is now created by the government of Odisha state for the Fakir Mohan Scholarship. Fakir Mohan Scholarship Objective

The major aim of the government behind this scholarship scheme is to promote the Odia language by the way to encourage meritorious students. By doing so, the students will be able to learn their native language and it will also promote the use of the Odia language in the state.

Selection For Scholarship

The applicant will be selected for the scholarship based on the following selection procedure:-

• The common scholarship portal has been developed by the Government to enable the online application for the student.
• The bank account must be in the name of the applicant only. The students will have to enter the details related to their bank account carefully in order to ensure the smooth transfer of the scholarship amount.
• The disbursement will be made through IFMS. The payments shall be made to the savings bank accounts of the selected students directly by the above system for this online account transfer. The savings bank account of the students must be in active and operative conditions.

Role And Responsibilities Of Concerned Institution 

The concern Institutions will have to follow the following roles and responsibilities to be able to dispatch the scholarship:-

• The principal has to constitute a scholarship cell and clear one senior faculty as a nodal officer of this scholarship cell.
• The Nodal Officer has to formulate a plan and program for better Awareness of the students about these scholarships granted by the Government of Odisha through the state scholarship portal.
• The Nodal Officer has to constitute A committee of three members.
• The committee has to download the list of students applying for scholarships available in the report site of the portal.
• The committee has to scrutinize the application received in the institution based on the eligibility criteria.
• The committee has to ensure the genuineness of the students.
• The committee has to correct the data regarding the income and other details and if any error is found, they will have to rectify the applications accordingly.
• You have to prepare the eligibility list and sign the report to continue your application.
• If the data is correct then the precious principal will authenticate the record of the student considered for this scholarship by the department.
• The principal will validate the applications and forward the eligible applications to the department for necessary steps.
• The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the records of the principal given within the timeline.
• Institutions will be held responsible for the disbursement of scholarship amount to any ineligible students as the selection list for any particular category of merit will be drawn only from the records authenticated by the principal.

Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant should be a permanent resident of Odisha State
• Aspirants must possess a higher secondary examination certificate or graduate degree in B. An in Odia as honors/major.
• The aspirant must score above 90% marks in the Odia language examination in higher secondary examination or a graduation degree in B. An in Odia as honors/major.
• Applicants should not pursue their education via distance learning/ correspondent courses to get a scholarship under this scheme
