What Is Free Coaching Scheme?
There are various competitive examinations held in India. Due to a lack of sources and knowledge, even brilliant students are not able to crack these competitive examinations. Considering this in mind department of Social Justice and Empowerment came up with the idea to provide free coaching to economically disadvantaged students. To do so the department has initiated a Free Coaching Scheme for SC and OBC Students. This scheme has been started to help economically disadvantaged students in achieving their dream job.Â

Objective Of Free Coaching Scheme for SC and OBC Students
Department of social justice and Empowerment, Ministry Of social Justice and empowerment Government of India has started a free coaching scheme with the objective to provide coaching of good quality to the economically disadvantaged scheduled caste and other backward class students. This scheme has been started to enable the students to appear in the competitive examination and get success in obtaining an appropriate job in the public and private sectors.
Benefits Of Free Coaching Scheme for SC and OBC Students
- This scheme is beneficial for the 3500 students across the country.
- Out of the total number of students, 70% of students will belong to the scheduled caste category and 30% to the OBC category
- Students will get an actual course fee from the institute or the prescribed course fee by the Ministry as mentioned below whichever is less.
- The course fees shall be paid through the DBT mode
- Beneficiaries will receive the payment in a single installment
- Payment will release within 2 weeks from the date can be date upload the fee receipt showing the institute fee
- A monthly stipend of rupees 4000 per student will be released by the government in one installment after completion of the coaching period and after appearing in the examination.
- To claim the monthly dependents students have to upload the hall ticket of the exam along with self-certification that he has completed the coaching and taken the examination.

Distribution of slots
- Out of the total slots, 60% shall be allotted to the courses for which the qualifying exam is graduation.
- Out of the total slots, 40% shall be allotted to the courses for which the qualifying exam is 12th.

Selection procedure
- Selection of the candidates will be made on a merit basis.
- First students have to submit their applications which are verified by the Ministry through the state government in PMS SC
- A selected candidate list will be prepared for each category.
- Selected candidates will receive a computer-generated letter
- Now the candidates who received the letter can join the institute to take the coaching of their choice
- To receive the benefits students have to upload the institute fee receipt on the official portal
- Candidates have to join the institute within 6 months of releasing of merit list.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must belong to SC and OBC category
- The annual income of applicants’ families from all the sources must not be more than 8 lakh rupees
- SC/OBC category candidates belonging to minority communities have to apply for a similar scheme under the Ministry of minority affairs.
- Applicant must have passed 10th standard examinations with at least 50% marks
- For the examination where the qualifying exam is 12th standard, an applicant who is pursuing 12th standard or passed 12 standards can apply for the scheme
- For the examinations where the qualifying exam is at the bachelor’s level, only those students who have passed the bachelor’s degree can submit their application.
- Under the scheme, benefits are available to a student, not more than twice.
- Applicants cannot apply for any other coaching scheme started by the central or state government.

- To apply for the scheme, students have to visit the Free Coaching Scheme website of the free coaching scheme for SC and OBC students
- From the homepage of the portal students have to click on the login button
- A new page will open on the screen from where you have to select register yourself
- The registration form will open on the computer screen students have to fill all the details in the application form
- After completing the details press the register button and follow the screen
- Now you have to log in with the portal and complete the application form
- Upload all the necessary documents as required in the prescribed format
- Review the application form and submit it by pressing submit button.
