Fulbright Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowship

The United Nations-India Educational Foundation launched the Fulbright Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowship 2025-26. To provide all Indian researchers and professionals a chance to complete their higher education in the United States the authority has launched the Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowship 2025-26. The Indian researchers and professionals carry out a combination of teaching and research at a U.S. institution. This Fellowship will also strengthen the international relations of both the countries India and the United States. About USIEF

The United States – India Educational Foundation (USIEF) Is a collaboration between the United States Government and India to share the knowledge and experience of the professionals of both countries. The USIEF Provides various opportunities for Indian professionals and researchers to complete their research by providing financial assistance and other benefits. Since its inception, USIEF has awarded approximately 20,000 Fulbright, Fulbright-Nehru, and other prestigious grants and scholarships in almost every academic discipline. The fellowships launched by the USIEF provide a chance for all Indian researchers to complete their research from world-known institutes in the United States.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must have a Ph.D. degree with at least five years of relevant teaching/research/professional experience.
Professionals outside academe must have a master’s degree and at least five years of relevant experience.
The applicant should upload a recent significant publication (copy of paper/article) in the online application (not exceeding 30 pages).
If the applicant is employed, they must follow the instructions carefully regarding the employer’s endorsement. The employer must indicate that leave will be granted for the fellowship period.
The applicant must obtain the endorsement from the appropriate administrative authority on the Letter of Support from the Home Institution.

Reward Details

The fellowships provide J-1 visa support, a monthly stipend, an Accident and Sickness Program for Exchanges per U.S. Government guidelines, round-trip economy class air travel, a modest settling-in allowance, and a professional allowance.

Selection Process

The applicants will be selected on the basis of their clearance of eligibility criteria.
The applicant must have relative experience in the fields of teaching/ research/ professional.
The applicant must want to pursue their education in the United States to be selected for this fellowship.
Only applicants who submit their application form before the last date will be selected for the fellowship.
The applicants must have all the required documents before filling out the application form to confirm their selection for the scholarship.
