About ICAI Doctoral Scholarship Scheme 

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is in search of students who are going to pursue a Ph.D. degree in Auditing, Taxation, Commerce, Management, and Accounting. and are members of the institute to provide financial support. Deserving candidates may apply for the scholarship program. Financial assistance under this scheme will be given to the 5 candidates every year. Students will get financial support only for the 3 years.

Objective Of ICAI Doctoral Scholarship Scheme

The major objective of the ICAI behind starting this scholarship program is to support those Ph.D. degree-pursuing students who wish to pursue research in the core areas having global relevance, adding value to subject and research results should aim to develop some theory and/or model which can be replicated universally

Benefits Of ICAI Doctoral Scholarship Scheme

  • Applicants will get a scholarship amount of Rs. 50000 per month for a maximum period of 3 years
  • Scholarships will be awarded to 5 scholars every year
  • Rs. 50,000 per annum as a contingency grant will also provide

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant should be a member of the ICAI
  • The age of applicant should not be more than 40 years of age
  • The applicant should be a student
  • Applicant must be pursuing a Ph.D. degree program in Auditing, Taxation, Commerce, Management, and Accounting.
  • Applicant should l not avail of any other scholarship for the same
Documents Required
  • Abstract of Research Proposal in not more than 300 words
  • Research Proposal in not more than 3000 words
  • Self -Attested copy of ICAI Membership
  • Self -Attested copy of Ph.D. Enrolment/Registration
  • Self- Attested copy of proofs of qualification for NET/SLET/MPhil etc.
Selection Procedure
  • Scrutiny of the application will be by the Research Committee Secretariat
  • The meritorious proposals will short-list region wise by the shortlisting Committee
  • Shortlisted applicants will call for a presentation before Shortlisting Committee
  • Research Committee will approve the final candidates from the recommended candidates by the Shortlisting Committee

  • Click on the link and a new page will open on the screen
  • Select the “announcement” option and read the information carefully

  • Now you have to download the application by clicking the “Application Form” link
  • Fill out the application form very carefully and attach the necessary documents duly signed and stamped by the Supervisor of the candidate for a Ph.D. or any other competent signing authority of the University/College/ Institution
