Eligibility Criteria 

• The applicant must be studying for any postgraduate degree in a non-professional course.
• The applicant must be a single girl child in her family without any brothers.
• The girl students who are twin daughters/ fraternal daughters may apply for this UGC scholarship.
• This scholarship is available to PG-I year students only
• Girl students up to the age of 30 years at the time of admission in PG courses are eligible. 
• Admission to PG courses in Distance education mode is not covered under the scheme.

• Only one girl child will be selected from a family for the scholarship
• The student must be at the age of 30 years when she started her PG course 
• The students who are pursuing their postgraduate degree from a distance are not selected for the Indira Gandhi scholarship.
