About Ishan Uday Special Scholarship
The University Grants Commission (UGC) launched the Ishan Uday special scholarship program for students in the North Eastern Region (NER). A total of 10,000 new scholarships are awarded annually under the Ishan Uday scholarship program to NER students. These students must be enrolled in general degree programs and technical and professional programs. Including courses in medicine and paramedicine at deemed colleges or universities. Each year, the scholarship recipients receive a monthly payment of up to ₹7,800 till their degree program is completed. The chosen candidates have the scholarship money deposited into their bank accounts via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) method respectively.

Eligibility Criteria
- The Northeastern states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura are where the applicants must be residents.
- The combined annual family income of the candidates cannot exceed ₹4.5 lakh.
- To be eligible for the current academic year, candidates must have passed class 12 or its equivalent in the year before.
- Additionally, the applicants must have been accepted into any university or college covered by Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, as well as Deemed-to-be Universities included under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 and qualified to receive grants-in-aid from the UGC, State/Centrally-funded educational institutions, prestigious national institutes, and those institutes in which admission is made withAISHE code.
- Students who identify as transgender can also benefit from the Ishan Uday scholarship.
- Ishan Uday scholarship applicants are not permitted to attend open universities to further their education.
- Additionally, individuals who have applied for admission through the management quota, who have received another scholarship, or who are enrolled in courses that do not result in a degree award are not eligible for this grant.

Scholarship Amount
