The Government of Maharashtra has launched a Maintenance Allowance SC Students for Professional Courses Maharashtra scheme. Under the scheme financial assistance up to Rs 1200 will be provided to the beneficiaries to pursue their higher education from class 11th to PhD level. Under the scheme, monthly financial assistance up to Rs 1200 along with other benefits will be provided to the students. So now students will not be required to depend on anyone to pursue higher education. With the implementation of this scheme, the literacy ratio in the state will also be improved. Eligibility Criteria 

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of Maharashtra
• Applicant must have a disability of 40% or more certified by a competent authority
• The student should be studying from class 11th to Ph.D. level
• Applicant should have taken admission through the cap process
