Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria in order to successfully apply for the scholarship:-

• 1. Kalam-Pai, Freeship and Scholars Scholarship for MBBS & BDS Programs
  • 80 % aggregate of Physics + Chemistry + Biology (as per eligibility criteria) in 10+2 from the recognised Board
• 2. Merit Scholarship for Post Graduate (PG) Medical / Dental and Super Speciality (SS) Programs
  • MD Programs: Pass an MBBS degree from an Institution / University recognized by the National Medical Council (NMC) / erstwhile Medical Council of India (MCI)
  • MDS Programs: Pass in BDS degree from an Institution / University recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI)
  • DM Programs: Pass in MD / DNB from an Institution / University recognized by the National Medical Council (NMC) / erstwhile Medical Council of India (MCI)
• 3. Freeship, Scholar, and Achiever Scholarship for BTech
  • 80 % aggregate of Mathematics + Physics + Optional subject (as per selection criteria) in 10+2 from the recognised Board
  • Free ship & Scholar category Scholarships put together, constitutes 5 % of the GENERAL category intake for each branch and are applicable for the entire program duration, starting 1st year of the program
  •  Achiever category Scholarship constitutes 5 % of the general category intake for each branch and is applicable at the beginning of 2nd year, 3rd year, and 4th year based on the annual academic performance of the immediate previous year i.e. 1st year, 2nd year, and 3rd year
• 4. Freeship, Scholar, and Achiever Scholarship for BPharm
  • 80 % in Chemistry + Physics + Biology / Mathematics in 12th from the recognised Board
  • Free ship & Scholar category Scholarships put together, constitute 5 % of the general category intake and are applicable for the entire program duration, starting 1st year of the program
  • • Achiever category Scholarship constitute 5 % of the general category intake (excluding Freeship & Scholar scholarship students) and is applicable from the beginning of 2nd year, 3rd year, and 4th year based on the annual academic performance in the immediate previous year i.e. 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year
• 5. Scholarship for Allied Health Programs at Manipal TATA Medical College (MTMC) Jamshedpur
  • All candidates are required to go through the admission process specified for each program
  • All candidates admitted to the above program under the GENERAL category, are eligible for a 20 % course fee waiver as a scholarship, provided they meet the eligibility criteria required at the time of admission
  • Domicile candidates from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Jharkhand, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim are eligible for an additional fee waiver of 15 % as scholarships ie; a total fee waiver of 35 % as scholarship for the 1st year, only on the production of valid domicile certificate
  • • Candidates are required to pay the full first-year course fee including a Refundable Caution Deposit of Rs. 10,000 at the time of Admission / Reporting.
  • • The Scholarship obtained by the candidate is applicable for the entire program duration, starting 1st year of the program
  • o Domicile candidates from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Jharkhand, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim must clear all the subjects of the preceding semester(s) / year(s) in order to be eligible for the additional fee waiver of 15 % (mentioned above) for the 2nd & 3rd years
  • The scholar will have to take care of other expenses such as hostel accommodation, food, books, etc.
  • Continuation of scholarship for subsequent years will be based on the academic performance of the students in the University examinations, preceding the due date for payment of fee/dues as mentioned above
  • The scholarships will be forfeited in the instances of irregularity in attendance, proven charges of indiscipline, bringing disrepute to the Department / Institution / University, etc
• 6. Scholar and Achiever Scholarship for All Other Under Graduate (UG) & Post Graduate (PG) Programs
  • The minimum intake of the program MUST be 10 and the minimum no. of Admissions MUST be 5
  • Under Graduate (UG) program: 80 % (as per selection criteria) in 10+2 from a recognized Board
  • o Post Graduate (PG) program: 70 % aggregate in Under Graduate (UG) from a recognized University
  • • For the Under Graduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) Programs with Manipal Entrance Test (MET), MET Rank will be used for the allotment of Scholarships, provided the candidate also satisfies the above-mentioned minimum eligibility criteria for Scholarship.
  • Scholar Scholarships constitute 5 % of the GENERAL category intake for each branch/program and are applicable for the entire program duration, starting 1st year of the program
  • o Minimum admitted for the program MUST be 5
  • Achiever Scholarship constitutes 5 % of the GENERAL category intake for each branch/program and is applicable at the beginning of 2nd year, 3rd year, 4th year, and 5th year based on the annual academic performance in the immediate previous year i.e. 1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year and 4th year, depending on the Program duration.
• 7. Scholarships for Academy of General Education Students (SAGES)
  • Admission will be done as per the admission criteria mentioned for the respective course.
  • • The SAGES Scholarship taken together is limited to 5% of the GENERAL category intake
  • • Scholarship is applicable for the entire program duration, starting from the year of admission
  • • Eligibility Requirements
    • o Under Graduate (UG) program: 70% aggregate (as per selection criteria) in 12th
    • o Post Graduate (PG) program: 70% aggregate in Under Graduate (UG)
    • o BTech (Lateral Entry) program: 60% aggregate in Diploma
• 8. Academy of General Education (AGE) Scholarship for AGE Students
  • The scholarship is applicable for the entire program duration, starting 1st year of the program
• 9. Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for B.Sc. Nursing
  • 90 % in Physics + Chemistry + Biology + English, in 12th from the recognised Board
  • The scholarship is applicable for the entire program duration, starting 1st year of the program
• 10. Merit Scholarship for BTech (Lateral Entry) students from Manipal Group Polytechnic Institutions
  • Candidates MUST have studied & completed their 3 years (6 semesters) of Diploma in Engineering
  • from the above institutions with 60 % aggregate marks
  • Merit Scholarship is applicable for the entire program duration, starting 2nd year of the program ie; year of admission
• 11. Scholar & Achiever Scholarships for Foreign / NRI / NRI sponsored Students
  • Under Graduate (UG) program: 75 % aggregate or equivalent (as per Selection criteria) in 12th
  • Post Graduate (PG) program: 75 % aggregate or equivalent in Under Graduate (UG)
  • The scholarship is applicable to all students who meet the eligibility requirements for the entire program duration, starting 1st year of the program
  • Scholar category Scholarships for all students who meet the above eligibility requirements and are applicable for the entire program duration, starting 1st year of the program
  • Achiever Scholarship is applicable at the beginning of the 2nd year, 3rd year, 4th year, and 5th year based on the annual academic performance in the immediate previous year i.e. 1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year, and 4th year depending on the Program duration.
• 12. Scholarship for Konkani-speaking students
  • Applicable for Students admitted under the GENERAL category only
  • The candidate is required to go through the admission process specified for each program and there are NO preferential/reserved seats for Konkani-speaking students
• 13. Merit Scholarship for Children of MAHE Manipal Alumni
  • Applicable for Students admitted under the GENERAL category only
  • The candidate is required to go through the admission process specified for each program and there are NO preferential/reserved seats for children of MAHE Manipal Alumni
  • The fee waiver is NOT applicable to PG Medical / Dental, Super specialty Programs
  • Eligibility Requirements
    • o Under Graduate (UG) program: 80 % aggregate (as per selection criteria) in 12th
    • o Post Graduate (PG) program: 70 % aggregate in Under Graduate (UG)
  • Candidate’s Father / Mother Should have studied & graduated in UG program (minimum 3 years) / PG program (minimum 2 years) / Super specialty (minimum 2 years) / Ph.D. program (including part-time) from any one of MAHE Manipal Institutions
• 14. Scholarship scheme of interest subsidy on education loans for MAHE students
  • A student can avail of the benefit of a scholarship under the Scheme during the term of his / her study.
  • • Loan shall be availed from a nationalized/scheduled bank for payment of the course fee prescribed for the course.
  • Loan availed for payment of repeat term (casual term) fee will NOT qualify for the scheme.
  • • The benefits under the Scheme will NOT be extended to students in instances of irregularity in attendance, poor academic performance, proven charges of indiscipline, and failure in the examination.
  • • MAHE reserves the right to prescribe the eligibility norms of academic performance for each course
  • • The eligible loan for interest subsidy shall be the amount equivalent to the accumulated course fee already paid by the student to MAHE for the respective academic years
• 15. AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW)
  • The proposed scheme will be applicable only to the students with parents’ annual income (from all sources) less than Rs. 8 lakhs (or as specified by AICTE) for the Assessment year 2021 – 22
• 16. ITC Scholarship
  • ITC Hotels Ltd has also instituted a scholarship worth Rs. 3.5 lakhs to the Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) students at Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration (WGSHA), excelling in operational subjects and for the best all-round graduating students

To apply for the scholarship we will have to follow the simple procedure given below:-

• The candidates will first have to visit the Manipal University website of the national scholarship portal by clicking on the link given here

• The home page will open on your screen.
• Click on the option called New Registration

• The instructions will open on your screen.
• Tick mark the declaration.
• Click on the “Continue” option.
• Enter all of the details.
• Enter name, date of birth, mobile number, gender, email ID, bank details etc.
• Enter the captcha code y
• Click the “Register” option.
• Now you have to log in using your credentials.
• Click on the option called Application Form

• The application form will be displayed on the screen
• Enter details including the State of Domicile, Name of the student, Date of Birth, Community/ Category, Father’s Name, Aadhaar card Number, Mobile Number, Scholarship Category, Gender, Religion, Mother’s Name, Annual Family Income, Email ID etc.
• Click on “Save & Continue”
• Upload the documents.
• Click on “Final Submission’’
• The application form will be successfully submitted.
