The West Bengal Minority Development and Finance Corporation has launched a new scholarship program for students who are indebted to complete their education at the school and college level of West Bengal state. The scheme is known as the Aikyashree Scholarship 2023 which will be operated by the Government of West Bengal. What Is Aikyashree Scholarship 2023?

Aikyashree Scholarship is set up by the Government of West Bengal state with the help of the WBMDFC Department. The State Scholarship will provide financial assistance to the candidates who are currently suffering from poverty because of the catastrophic scenarios created due to the coronavirus pandemic. The scholarship program is especially available for minority students so to provide them with financial support and equal educational opportunities as the students belonging to the non-minority groups. The scholarship will be available for the students from class 1st to the Ph.D. level staying in the West Bengal State.

Benefit Of Aikyashree Scholarship

There are a lot of benefits that will be provided by the Aikyashree Scholarship 2022 to the students who are currently studying in the West Bengal State and belong to the minority community. Some of the benefits of the scholarship scheme are given below:-

• The scheme will provide educational loans to poor students who are very good at their studies.
• The minority community women will be able to undertake the benefit of the scholarship program to make their life better and independent.
• The students will be financially independent at a small age with the help of their education.
• The literacy ratio of the West Bengal State will be increased due to the scholarship scheme.
• Training will be provided to the students for various competitive examinations.

Incentives Of Aikyashree Scholarship

The incentives available under the different types of Aikyashree Scholarship 2022 are given below in the following table:-

Beneficiaries will be liable for scholarship amounts ranging from Rs. 150 to Rs. 750 per month. Besides the scholarship amount, the selected students get an additional Ad hoc Reward of up to Rs. 1000 per year.
West Bengal Post-matric Scholarship	Students of Class 11, Class 12, Graduation, and Post-graduation can apply for this scholarship program. The main advantage will be given to SC, ST, and OBC students studying in post matriculation or post-secondary level. Beneficiaries will be liable for scholarship amounts ranging from Rs. 160 to Rs. 1200 per month.
Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Scholarship, West Bengal	This scholarship is intended for female students. The main advantage will be given to students who have qualified for class 12th from any board in West Bengal. The main beneficiaries will be Female students seeking an undergraduate degree course in Basic Science/ Engineering/Medicine at any institute of West Bengal who can apply for this scholarship program. Beneficiaries will be liable for Rs. 3000 per month. Besides the scholarship amount, the student will also get a yearly book grant of Rs. 2000.
Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship (SVMCM)	This is a  merit-cum-means based scholarship. Students from Class 11 to Ph.D. level candidates can apply for this scholarship program. Beneficiaries will be liable for Rs. 8000 per month depending on the level of education or program. The distribution of this scholarship fund is mainly based on the student’s academic advantage and financial need.
Hindi Scholarship Scheme, West Bengal	The main advantage will be given to students studying the Hindi language in Non-Hindi speaking states like West Bengal. Students studying in higher secondary, undergraduate, postgraduate, and research level courses (M.Phil., Ph.D. or M.Lit. etc.) can apply for this scholarship. Beneficiaries will be liable for scholarship amounts ranging from Rs. 300 to Rs. 1000 per month.

Eligibility Criteria For Aikyashree Scholarship

If you are applying for the different types of Aikyashree Scholarship 2022 then you must first follow the eligibility criteria given here:-

For West Bengal Pre-matric Scholarship (SC/ST Students)-

• The applicant must be a permanent and legal resident of West Bengal State.
• The applicant must be a student studying in class 9th or class 10th
• The student must belong to SC or ST caste.
• The annual family income of the student should not exceed Rs. 2 lakh.

For West Bengal Post-matric Scholarship-

• The applicant must be a permanent and legal resident of West Bengal State.
• The applicant must be a student studying in Class 11, 12, Graduation or Post Graduation.
• The student must belong to the SC, ST or OBC category.
• The annual family income of the student should not exceed-
  • Rs. 1 lakh for OBC
  • Rs. 2 Lakh for SC
  • Rs. 2.5 Lakh for ST category

Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Scholarship, West Bengal-

• The applicant must be a permanent and legal resident of West Bengal State.
• The applicant must have passed class 12th.
• The student must belong to the SC, ST or OBC category.
• Only female students can apply for this scheme.
• The student must be studying Engineering, Medicine or Basic Science at a known institution in West Bengal.

For Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship (SVMCM)-

• The applicant must be a permanent and legal resident of West Bengal State.
• The applicant must be a student studying in Class 11 or 12.
• The student must be pursuing graduation in Engineering, Medical, and Technical/Professional courses if they are not studying the general Undergraduate or Postgraduate level degree courses.
• If the student is studying at the higher secondary level or pursuing a diploma, he or she must have secured at least 75% marks in class 10th.
• The annual family income of the student should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh.
• Scholarships will be provided on a merit basis.
• Students pursuing M.Phil. courses and Doctoral courses from state-aided institutions are also eligible.

For Hindi Scholarship Scheme, West Bengal-

• The applicant must be a permanent and legal resident of West Bengal State.
• He/ She must have passed any one of the following degree courses – Madhyamik, higher secondary, graduation, PG, or any equivalent degree course
• The applicant must belong to a non-Hindi-speaking state.
• The student must have secured at least 60% marks in the earlier qualifying exam, in the first trial, with Hindi as one of the subjects.

Selection Procedure For Aikyashree Scholarship

The selection procedure for the scholarship presented by the West Bengal Government is given below:-

• For the new scholarship candidates, the concerned authority will consider the marks that they have got in the previous examination to allocate them the financial assistance decided by the state government.
• If you are applying for a renewal scholarship then the corporation will only consider the students who have obtained more than 50% off marks in their previous examination.

Application Procedure Of Aikyashree Scholarship

To apply for the scholarship you need to follow the step-by-step procedure given below:-

• Go to the Aikyashree Website

• The homepage will be displayed on your screen.
• Click on the Apply Online option
• A new page will be displayed on your screen.
• Select the District of your Institute
• Enter information such as Name, District, Guardians Name, DOB, Mobile Number, Email ID, and Bank Account Number.
• Click on Submit
• Enter information regarding your current institution, its location, class or course name, the last exam passed, name of the board, year of passing the last exam, percentage marks obtained, annual family income, and email ID.
• Review all of the details.
• Click on the Submit & Proceed tab
• A user ID will be generated.
• It will be sent to your email.
• The password will be sent to your email.
• Now, you will have to log in using your credential.
• Now enter the following-
  • Basic Information
  • Academic Information
  • Bank Account Information
• You can now change your password for safety.
• Click on Submit
• Enter all of the basic information-
• Click Submit and Proceed
• After entering all of the other basic information you will have to review the application.
• Click on the Final Submit tab
• You can also take a printout copy of the application form
• Now, you have to submit the application form at the concerned institute along with a photocopy of your bank passbook containing the bank account number and IFSC Code.

Renewal of Aikyashree Scholarship

To renew your scholarship, you will have to follow the following step by step procedure:-

• Go to the official website for All Scholarship (Pre-Matric, Post Matric, MCM, TSP, SVMCM scholarship)
• On the homepage, you will have to click on the option called Renewal Application.
• A new page will be displayed on your screen.
• Select your district.
• Click OK on the dialogue box appearing on the screen
• Now log in using your credential.
• Enter your application ID, date of birth, district, and captcha code.
• Click on the login.
• An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
• Enter the OTP.
• Click on submit.
• Two options will be displayed on your screen.
• Click on Renew Application
• Enter name, date of birth, email ID, parent’s name, gender, religion, etc.
• Click on Submit and Next.
• Now you need to enter previous and current academic details.
• Click on Submit and Next.
• Now you need to verify your bank details.
• Check the IFSC, bank and branch name, bank account number, and name in the bank account as per the passbook.
• Tick the confirmation box ‘I confirm that the bank account details are ok to the best of my knowledge & belief’
• Click on Submit and Next.
• Upload all of the documents.
• Now, finally, review your details.
• Click on Submit and Lock Renewal Application.
• A popup will be displayed asking if the details are correct. If they are, click on OK
• You can also take a printout by clicking on the Print Renewal Application button.

Retrieving Aikyashree Application ID or Password

If you have forgotten your password or application ID then you need to follow the step-by-step procedure to retrieve it:-

• Go to the official website for All Scholarship (Pre-Matric, Post Matric, MCM, TSP, SVMCM scholarship)
• On the homepage, you will have to click on the option called Student’s Login.
• Click on the Forgot User ID / Password link on the login page.
• Select the Scholarship Registration Year, Institution District, Registered Mobile No., Date of Birth, Bank Account Number / Application ID.
• An SMS will be sent to your registered mobile number with your application ID or password.

Checking Application Status

If you want to check your application status then you need to follow the step-by-step procedure given below:-

Conditions For The Scheme

The applicant must follow the following conditions in order to successfully apply for the scholarship:-

• The applicant has to submit a certificate regarding family income at the time of application.
• For renewal applicants, the continuity of scholarship will be subject to securing 50% marks in the previous year’s examination.
• Maintenance allowance will be provided to hostellers and day scholars.
• Students should be regular in attendance for which the yardstick will be decided by the competent authority of the school.
• If a student violates school disciplines or any other terms and conditions of this scholarship then the scholarship may be suspended or canceled.
• The state government can also directly cancel the award if duly satisfied of the reasons of violation of these regulations governing the scholarship.
• If a student is found to have obtained a scholarship by false statement then the scholarship will be canceled and the amount will be recovered.
• The course and the tuition fees + the maintenance allowance will be credited to the bank account of the beneficiary through DBT mode.
• An amount not higher than 2% may be kept for administrative expenses by the authorities for the implementation of the scheme.
