POGO-SCOR Visiting Fellowships have been specially announced for scientists, technicians, postgraduate students, and post-doctoral fellows. This fellowship program is for the duration of three months only. The fellowship program has been designed to promote the training and capacity building leading toward our Global observation scheme for the ocean. This program has been announced for the first time in the year 2001. Applications are invited from the candidates through online mode only prior to the last date.

Objective Of POGO-SCOR Visiting Fellowships
The objective of the fellowship program is to support training in oceanography observation, not to learn research techniques. The major objective of the program is to advance sustained ocean observation and its applications.

- Emerging technologies for ocean observations

- Large-scale, operational biological observations including biodiversity (e.g. biological Essential Ocean Variables including the Continuous Plankton Recorder and other programs)
- Ocean and coastal modeling
- Ocean observations and modeling in the Indian Ocean (contributions to IIOE-2)
- Optical measurements of living and non-living particles
- Oxygen and other biogeochemical sensors on Floats and Gliders
- Time-series measurements of N2O and CH4 (linked to SCOR Working Group 143)

Eligibility Criteria
- Those applicants who are citizens of developing countries or economies in transition, as defined by the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) of the OECD can apply.
- Applicants should be scientists, technicians, postgraduate students, and post-doctoral fellows involved in oceanographic work at centers in developing countries and countries with economies in transition
