What Is PG Scholarship 2024?

A special scholarship will be provided to the people who have scored good marks in their University. The rank holders will be provided specific scholarship amounts so that they can continue their further studies after they have successfully done their Post Graduation. This scholarship will be helpful for people who want to further continue their studies after they have successfully graduated from their PG courses. Benefits Of PG Scholarship for University Rank HoldersHolders

The following benefits will be available to the candidates in this scholarship:-

• Amount of fellowship: Rs.3,100/- p.m for a period of two years only i.e. full duration of a PG course.
• No other additional grant will be payable in lieu of hostel charges and medical charges etc.
• The student who is awarded a Post-Graduate Scholarship for University Rank Holders will not be debarred from accepting any other scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria to apply for the scholarship:-

• Applicant must be below 30 years of age.
• The applicant must be studying in a post-graduation course from any affiliated university (central/state) or deemed universities/ private universities / 25 autonomous colleges / non-affiliated colleges
• Applicant must be a rank holder (Ist or IInd) in the previous graduation exam.
• The applicant must have completed graduation in one of the following disciplines: Life sciences, physical sciences, chemical sciences, earth sciences, mathematical sciences, social sciences, commerce, or languages
• The applicant must have scored a minimum of 60% of marks in graduation.

 Disbursal Of PG Scholarship for University Rank Holders

The disbursal process for the scholarship is as follows-

• After selection, the awardees will be paid a scholarship in DBT mode.
• The list of awardees will push to Public Financial Management System (PFMS) by the NIC.
• PFMS will generate payment files for the awardees and the scholarship would be paid for the complete duration of the postgraduate course. Payments will be generated on an annual basis.

PG Scholarship for University Rank Holders Renewal

You can renew your scholarship by following the simple procedure given below:-

• Scholarship granted under the scheme will be kept renewed during the period of the postgraduate course subject to good conduct and maintenance of prescribed attendance.
• The scholarship will be renewed for the next year of study on receipt of the renewal form.
• Students failing to get promoted to the next class/ level would forfeit the scholarship.
• Change in course of study will not be permitted.
• The scheme will be implemented and monitored by the UGC.
• The awardees of previous years will continue to follow the UGC pattern of assistance through the designated bank branches of Canara Bank

Cancellation Of Scholarship

The cancellation of a scholarship may take place in any of the following cases:-

• Misconduct of the awardee, if any, reported by the University/ Institution.
• Unsatisfactory progress report (i.e. if the candidate scores less than 60% marks in the first year of the Master’s program).

Documents Required

The applicant must have the following documents to apply for this scholarship:-

• Attested copy of university’s undergraduate degree
• Certificate of matriculation
• Verification certificate issued by the institute where the student has taken admission at PG level
• Scanned copy of the Aadhaar card/enrollment
