About Sanskriti Foundation

Om Prakash Jain established the Sanskriti Foundation in the year 1979 to provide an opportunity to Indian artists to recognise their talent. With the help of this Foundation the artists of India will be able to develop their artistic and cultural expression throughout India. The main aim of launching this Foundation is to create an appreciation for Indian traditional arts and culture. Objective of Pt Vasant Thakar Memorial Fellowship

To provide an opportunity for classical music artists to recognise their talent as both gurus and performers, the Sanskriti Foundation has launched the Pt Vasant Thakar Memorial Fellowship. Under this fellowship, an INR 1 lakh contingency grant will be provided to the fellows in two instalments. The first instalment under this Fellowship will be provided at the commencement of the fellowship and the second will be provided at the short midterm progress report. The main objective of launching this Fellowship is to provide a platform for the excellent artists of India to recognise their talent and bring it to the wider area.

Eligibility Criteria

• An applicant must be a permanent resident of India.
• The applicant must belong to any genre of Indian classical music
• The candidate must not hold any other Fellowship or any other project.

Fellowship Stipend

• The selected fellows will be provided with INR 1 lakhs in two instalments.

• The Sanskriti Foundation has launched the Pt Vasant Thakar Memorial Fellowship for the young talent of India.
• This Fellowship will provide INR 1 lakhs contingency grants to that talented artist of India.

Selection Process

• The selection of the candidate will be based on the clearance of the eligibility criteria.

• After that the candidate will have to go through a telephonic interview.
• They will be selected on their academic qualification and other skills as per the rules and regulations.
• Only the students who are ready to go through 10 months of fellowship will be selected for the fellowship.
• The fellows will have to sign an agreement with the Sanskriti Foundation.
