About Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children SPDC 2023
Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children SPDC has been launched for the students for the first time in the academic year 2006-07. Under the scholarship program, students will get a cash award. Benefits Of Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children SPDC
1st year | 75% of the total Institutional Economic Cost, subject to a maximum of USD 4,000 per annum whichever is lower |
2nd year | If secure 50% marks cumulatively, will get 75% of the total Institutional Economic Cost, subject to a maximum of USD 4,000 per annum whichever is lower |
If less than 50% but have obtained passing marks then 90% of the scholarship. | |
If not securely pass marks in all subjects but have been promoted then 50% of the scholarship |
SPDC Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants should be a Person of Indian Origin or Non-Resident Indian or Children of Indian Workers in ECR countries studying outside India or Children of Indian Workers in ECR countries studying in India.
- The age of the seeker should be between 17 to 21 years
- Must possess a 12th standard examination passing certificate with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks
- The annual income of the applicant’s family should not exceed US$ 5000
- Must have taken admission in undergraduate courses in Engineering, Technology, Humanities, Liberal, Arts, Commerce, Management, Journalism, Hotel Management, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and some other courses.
Note: ECR countries include Afghanistan, Bahrain, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen

Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children SPDC 2023 Application Procedure
- To apply for the scheme, you have to go to the SPDC website of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India
- From the home page of the portal go to the consular service option available in the menu bar
- A further drop-down list will open where you have to go to the “Diaspora and migration issues” option
- The further list will open go to the Diaspora Engagement option and search “Scholarship Programmes for Diaspora Children SPDC Scholarship” from the further opened list
- Read the available information and look for the current guideline and application form link
- Click the link and a PDF file will open along with the detailed information
- Accumulate the details available in the PDF and select the apply link given under the how to apply section of the PDF
- A new web page will open from where you select the register option and the form will open
- Enter the details as asked in the application and complete the registration formalities
- Then fill out the application form with all the necessary information and upload the documents
- Submit the application form after reviewing the details in case no change is required in the form
- Remember to take a print of the application for further use in case it is required.
