Umbrella Scholarship 2024: Pre/Post Matric Scholarship Apply Online

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India has recently created the Umbrella Scholarship for students who are pursuing education at pre and post-matric levels. In this article, we will share with all of you the details of the eligibility criteria and the educational criteria that are needed by people to follow to apply for the Umbrella Scholarship. We will also share with you all the step-by-step procedures through which you will be able to apply for the scholarship easily by going to the National Scholarship Portal.

What Is Umbrella Scholarship 2024?

Umbrella Scholarship is a scholarship that is available for the student currently studying in the Arunachal Pradesh state and belonging to the scheduled tribe’s categories. This scholarship will only be available for students currently studying in Class 9th and Class 10th from any Government or Central Board educational institution in the Arunachal Pradesh state. You can fill up the application form for the scholarship before the last date available on NSP.

Umbrella Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must follow the following educational criteria in this scholarship opportunity:-

• The applicant should be a domicile of Arunachal Pradesh
• He/ she should belong to the ST category.
• Students pursuing Class 9 and Class 10 education from Government/ State/ Central board schools are eligible to apply for the pre-matric scholarship.
• The annual family income of the pre-matric scholarship applicants should not exceed INR 2,00,000 from all sources.
• The candidates should not be availing of any other centrally funded scholarship.
• The candidate should have passed the matriculation or higher secondary from any recognized university/ institution or Board of Secondary Education to be eligible to apply for the post-matric scholarship.
• The student should be pursuing post-matriculation level education (Class 11 and higher).
• The annual family income of the post-matric scholarship applicant should not exceed INR 2,50,000 from all sources.

Rewards and Benefits

The following rewards and benefits will be provided to the candidates in this scholarship:-

Umbrella Pre-matric Scholarship	Maintenance allowance of INR 350 per month to hostellers and INR 150 per month for day scholars. Book and ad-hoc allowance of INR 1000 per annum for hostellers and INR 750 per annum for day scholars. INR 240 per month as an extra allowance for students with disabilities.
Umbrella Post-matric Scholarship	Thesis typing and printing charges of up to INR 1600 for the research scholars. Study tour charges of up to INR 1600 per annum to the selected candidates. Annual allowance of INR 1200 for Essential/ Prescribed books. Reimbursement of the course fees for the candidates pursuing correspondence courses. The scholars get a maintenance allowance of up to INR 1200 per month for hostellers and up to INR 550 per month for day scholars.

You must submit the following documents for this scholarship:-

• School/college current year bonafide certificate
• Self-attested certificate of academic mark sheet of the previous year
• Income certificate
• Passport-size photograph of the applicant
• School leaving certificate
• Hostel certificate (for hosteller students)
• Domicile certificate
• Thesis typing/printing bill (in case of MPhil, Ph.D., D.Litt, D.Pharm, D.Sc students)
• Disability certificate (in case of disabled persons)
• The first page of the bank passbook
• Self-attested copy of Aadhar card
• Self-attested caste certificate issued by the competent authority
• Fee receipt of current course year

Terms and Conditions

The applicants must follow the following terms and conditions in this scholarship:-

For Umbrella Pre-matric Scholarship

• The scholarship amount is awarded for pursuing studies in any class for only one year. Students repeating the same class in the subsequent year will not be receiving the scholarship.
• The scholarship amount is disbursed only for 10 months in an academic year.
• Based on good conduct and regular attendance, the scholarship will be renewed for Class 10 after the candidate passes Class 9.
• The benefits offered by the scholarship scheme can be changed at any time at the discretion of the Government of India.
• If any candidate is found to have received the scholarship by dishonest means, his/ her scholarship is canceled and the scholarship amount paid will be recovered.

 For Umbrella Post-matric Scholarship

• The scholarships are provided for pursuing education in India only.
• The Umbrella scholarship scheme also covers central assistance to the States/ Union Territories to set up book banks.
• The benefits offered by the scholarship scheme can be changed at any time at the discretion of the Government of India.
• If any candidate is found to have received the scholarship by dishonest means, his/ her scholarship is canceled and the scholarship amount paid will be recovered.

Umbrella Scholarship Application Process

To apply for the scholarship you will have to follow the simple procedure given here:-

• Go to the official National Scholarship Portal by clicking on the link given here
• The homepage of the organization will be displayed on your screen

• Click on the ‘New Registration’ tab on the dashboard
• A new page will be displayed on your screen.
• The guidelines for the scholarship will be displayed on your screen.
• Select the Undertaking checkboxes, and click on the ‘Continue’ button.
• The application form will be displayed on your screen.

• Select the state of domicile and enter the scholarship category, scholarship scheme type, name, gender, DOB, mobile number, and email ID.
• Provide the bank details such as Bank Name, IFSC code, Account number, etc.
• Select the Aadhar number/ Bank account number as identification details
• Click on the ‘Register’ button.
• Verify your mobile number
• Submit only one application as multiple applications will lead to the cancellation of the form.
• After successful completion of the application form, an application ID and password is generated to be used for future reference.

Fresher Login

• Open the official website of the national scholarship portal.
• The homepage of the website will open on the screen.
• Now from the homepage, go to the login option.
• Select the Fresh login option along with the login year.
• A new login form will open on the screen.

• Enter the username ID and password.
• Enter the captcha code given on the screen.
• Now click on the login option.

Umbrella Scholarship Renewal

• Open the official website of national scholarship portal.
• The homepage of the website will open on the screen.
• Now from the homepage, go to the login option.
• Select the Renewal Login option along with the login year.
• A new login form will open on the screen.
• Enter the application id and password.

• Enter the captcha code given on the screen.
• Now click on the login option.
• The application renewal form will open on the screen.
• Enter the renewal details in the application form.
• Now click on the submit option.
• Your application will be renewed.

Update Mobile Number

• Open the official website of national scholarship portal.
• The homepage of the website will open on the screen.
• Now from the homepage, go to the login option.
• Select the Renewal Login option along with the login year.
• A new login form will open on the screen.
• Now click on the update mobile number option.
• A new page will open on the screen.

• Enter the details in the application form like application ID, applicant name, date of birth, bank account number, and other details.
• After that click on the verify and continue option
• In this way, you can update your mobile number on the NSP scholarship portal.

Change Mobile Number

• Open the official website of national scholarship portal.
• The homepage of the website will open on the screen.
• Now from the homepage, go to the login option.
• Select the Renewal login option along with the login year.
• A new login form will open on the screen.
• Enter the login details and get yourself logged in.
• Now click on the change mobile number option.
• Enter the otp sent to yiour registered mobile number.

• Enter the new number in the application form.
• Now click on the Change option.

• The homepage of the website will open on the screen.
• Now from the homepage, go to the Registration option.

• Enter the details to be filled in the application form like ministry, state, scholarship type, district, and other details.
• Now click on the submit option.
