Skillizen Olympiads Foundation Presents International Life Skills Olympiad 2023. It is a Harvard University Alumnus Initiative. Life skills are the skills that we need to deal effectively with the challenges we face in our everyday life, whether at school, at work, or in our personal life. We can say that it is a “set of skills that allows us to live our life to its fullest”. The students who are able to understand and use these skills, along with their school education, will be much better placed to take advantage of personal and professional opportunities in the future. In today’s constantly changing environment, having Life Skills is a critical part of being able to meet the demands of daily life.

To handle modern life young children need to be taught Life Skills such as Communication, Teamwork, Leadership, Critical Thinking, Ethics, Smart Consumer Literacy, and many more. Research done at Harvard University in 2011, suggests that the most effective method to impart Critical Life Skills to young citizens is to transfer them during the Hardwiring phase of the human brain. i.e., between the age of 6 to 16 years. Having a strong foundation in Life Skills is the Key to Becoming a Successful Human Being and a Global Citizen of the 21st Century.

International Life Skills Olympiad 2023

The International Life Skills Olympiad is an initiative of Alumnus of Harvard University. It is the world’s first online initiative to test young children’s Critical Life Skills Quotient and to compare the same with the most skilled children across the globe. Today’s children – the young citizens of the 21st century, need a whole range of Critical Life Skills to lead and manage their future. During a report when asked about the Skills Gap among professionals, most of them strongly emphasized that the biggest skill gap today is in Soft Skills such as Communication, Collaboration, etc. Through ILSO, students of Grades III-XII from all over the world will test their Life Skills and Aptitude using real-world scenario-based questions. While preparing for this highly engaging test, students will also get exposed to and acquire new life skills.

Objective of International Life Skills Olympiad

The exponential changes in the global economies over the past few years have influenced education, employment, and personal lives. To excel in the increased pace of modern life, young children need to be equipped with life skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership, critical thinking, ethics, smart consumer literacy, and many more. International Life Skills Olympiad seeks to address such gaps by assessing and imparting Critical Life Skills such as Leadership, Ethics, Goal Setting, Teamwork, Decision Making, Negotiation, and a whole range of other 21st-century skills to young citizens.

Who can Participate?

Any student from class III to XII can participate in the International Life Skills Olympiad. The participants can independently register online at www.lifeskillsolymipad.org or they can register through their school. This Olympiad will be conducted online across the world. All the registered students having access to any basic computer, phone, or pad with an internet facility connected to a webcam, can participate in the Life Skills Olympiad comfortably from their home or virtually from anywhere.

Exam Pattern

The exam pattern is different for every group of students.

Group-1 

Class 3rd to 6th

  • Format- MCQ 
  • No. Of questions- 40
  • Time duration- 60 mins

Group-2 

Class 6th to 8th

  • Format- MCQ
  • No. Of questions- 50
  • Time duration- 60 min
Group-3

Class- 9th&10th

  • Format- MCQ
  • No. Of questions- 60
  • Time duration- 60 min
Group 4

Class- 11th & 12th

  • Format- MCQs
  • No. of question- 70
  • Time- 60 min

  • Pay the application fees in online mode through- Paytm, PayPal, PayUmoney or Stripe.

Registration Fees

The registration fee for the Life Skills Olympiad is $7.99 only or an equivalent amount in the local currency of your country. The registration fee includes unlimited access to the preparation material which includes, the Life Skills Common Sense Guide, Real-life scenario-based practice questions with detailed explanations, and Mock tests.
