About J&K PM Special Scholarship Scheme
The government of India has launched the J&K PM Special Scholarship Scheme. Through this scheme, scholarship is provided to the students of Jammu and Kashmir from Rs 30000 per annum to Rs 3 lakh per annum. This scholarship is provided to students pursuing general degrees, medical degrees, professional courses, etc. Other than that the government also provides maintenance allowance up to Rs 1 lakh per annum. All the students who want to benefit from this scheme are requested to apply online starting from 22nd May 2023. With the implementation of this scheme students of Jammu and Kashmir are not required to depend on anyone in order to finance their education as the Government of India is going to provide them with scholarship

Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria to apply for the scholarship:-
- Students who are the domiciles of Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh
- Those who have passed the 10+2 exam from the J&K Board (JKBOSE) or CBSE-affiliated schools located in UTs of J&K and Ladakh
- Students who have passed 10+3 diploma from UTs of J&K and Ladakh Polytechnic for admission directly in the second year in the prescribed list of colleges against the vacant seats of the previous year
- Students having an annual family income of less than INR 8 lakh

Not Eligible
The following students are not eligible for this scholarship scheme:-
- Who do not apply through online registration on AICTE Portal
- Enrolled in courses offered by Open University
- Availing benefits from any other Govt./Non-Govt scheme
- Who got admission to the course through the Management quota
- Who joined a college other than those in AICTE Portal
- Taking admission through agents or NGOs
- Pursuing any diploma/postgraduate programme
- Absent during the counseling
- Who joined other than the allowed institution
Benefits of Prime Minister Special Scholarship
The following benefits will be provided to the candidates in this scholarship:-
- A total of 5,000 scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing courses in General Degrees, Professional Degrees, and Medical Streams. Students selected for the scholarship will receive the following benefits:
- For General Degree-
- Up to INR 30,000 per annum for the academic fee (payable to the institution)
- Maintenance charges of INR 1 lakh per annum (payable to the student)
- A total of 2070 scholarships are to be offered
- For Professional Degree-
- Up to INR 1.25 lakh per annum for the academic fee (payable to the institution)
- Maintenance charges of INR 1 lakh per annum (payable to the student)
- A total of 2830 scholarships are to be offered
- For MBBS/BDS or Equivalent Medical Streams:
- Up to INR 3 lakh per annum for the academic fee (payable to the institution)
- Maintenance charges of INR 1 lakh per annum (payable to the student)
- A total of 100 scholarships to be offered
Documents Required
The applicant must submit the following documents in this scholarship scheme:-
- Domicile certificate of J&K
- Family Income Certificate (Issued by Tehsildar or equivalent)
- Aadhaar card
- Class 10th mark sheet
- Class 12th mark sheet
- Diploma Certificate (for lateral entry only)
- Valid Caste certificate for SC/ST/SEBC for claiming the reservation as per State Govt. Policy
- Valid disability certificate (if any)
Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme Counselling Procedure
The applicant must go through the following counseling procedure to get the scholarship:-
- The Seat allotment will take place through online counseling only.
- No admission will be allowed without participation in the online counseling process.
- Scholarships are provided to those candidates who secured admission through online counseling.
- During the counseling process, aspirants will have to provide the choice of course and colleges in which they want to study.

Courses Details
The scholarship will be available only for the following courses:-
- General Stream – B.A./B.Com./B.Sc./B.Sc.(Hon.)/ BBA/BCA etc.
- Professional courses – B.E./B.Tech. / B. Pharmacy /B. Architecture/Hotel Management & Catering Technology/ B.Sc.(Nursing).
- Medical Streams – MBBS / B.D.S./BAMS and Allied Medicinal Courses.
Terms and Conditions
The applicant must follow the following terms and conditions to apply for this scholarship:-
- After the submission of the application, it is necessary to verify the documents at the Facilitation Centre.
- The allotment of seats by AICTE will be done through online counseling only.
- The merit list of students will be displayed well before the first round of counseling results.
- The photo and signature uploaded on the portal should be in .JPG/.PDF/.PNG format with the size of the file not exceeding 2MB.
- The academic fee to the institution will be disbursed directly by AICTE.
