Eligibility Criteria

You must follow the following eligibility criteria in order to apply for the scholarship:-

  • The applicant should be a domicile of Maharashtra state or should belong to the border of Maharashtra and Karnataka.
  • The candidate should be currently in Class 12 or passed the board exams to be eligible for this scholarship.
  • The applicant should belong to the Maratha community.
  • He/ she should be pursuing any professional/ non-professional course approved by the DHE at a Government-aided/ Non-government aided/ Partially aided/ Unaided/ Permanent Unaided college/ institution.
  • The applicant’s annual family income should not exceed INR 8,00,000 from all sources.
  • The candidate should have taken admitted for the course through the general quota.
  • Students pursuing part-time/ distance learning/ correspondence courses are not eligible to apply.
  • Only the first 2 children of a family are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

The following rewards and benefits will be provided to the candidates in this scholarship:-

  • Up to 100% tuition fees and exam fees.
  • Over 605 courses such as Medical, Engineering, and other professional courses cover under this scholarship scheme.
  • More than 5 lakh students benefit from the scholarship every year.
  • Students pursuing Professional courses in Government-aided/ Non-government aided with an annual income limit under INR 2,50,000 get 100% tuition fee coverage.
  • Candidates pursuing Professional courses in a Partially aided/ Unaided/ Permanent Unaided college/ institution with an annual income limit under INR 2,50,000 get 50% tuition fee coverage.
  • Students pursuing Professional courses in Government-aided/ Non-government aided with an annual income limit of INR 2,50,000- INR 8,00,000 get 50% tuition fee coverage.
  • Candidates pursuing Professional courses in a Partially aided/ Unaided/ Permanent Unaided college/ institution with an annual income limit of INR 2,50,000- INR 8,00,000 get 50% tuition fee coverage.
  • Students pursuing Non-Professional courses in Government-aided/ Non-government aided/Partially aided/ Unaided/ Permanent Unaided college/ institution with an annual income limit under INR 8,00,000 gets 100% tuition fee coverage.
  • Education expense of INR 5000.
  • Students pursuing Professional courses get 50% of the exam fees.
  • Students pursuing Non-Professional courses get 100% of the exam fees.
  • Books and stationary allowance of INR 5000.

Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions should into consideration to apply for the scholarship:-

  • The candidates who received the scholarship last year should apply for the renewal.
  • Students should not have a gap of 2 years during the course.
  • The candidate should attend every annual/ semester exam to be able to receive the scholarship benefits.
  • The applicant should not be getting any scholarship/ stipend from any other sources during the course.

New Applicant Registration
  • The registration form will display on your screen.
  • Enter all of your details.
  • Verify the email ID and mobile phone number to register.
  • The candidate should then complete the Aadhar authentication process either through OTP or biometric.
  • The applicants who opt for OTP authentication receive an OTP to their registered mobile number.
  • Successfully, complete the registration process.
  • Log in to the MahaDBT portal using the newly created Username and password.
  • Enter details such as personal details, communication details, academic details, etc in the application form.
