Department of College Education, Government of Rajasthan has launched Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence Yojana. Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Latest Updates
The Rajasthan government has approved a budget of 65 crores in order to implement the Rajiv Gandhi scholarship for academic excellence 2022 which is provided to the youth so that they can continue their higher education if they are going abroad. Free education will be provided to 200 students who are going abroad every year and 30% of these seats are reserved for women who are going abroad. The students who are permanent residents of Rajasthan state can apply for this opportunity to study in the top 150 Universities across the world. The students must have a family income of less than rupees 800000 to get up priority but the students with up to rupees 2500000 annual family income can also apply for this prestigious scheme.

Implementation Of Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship
The scheme was introduced by the State Government in the year 2021 in order to provide higher education to the state domicile students in case they are getting higher education abroad. The scheme was affected from December 2021. 18 students were selected at that time who started their academic session in September 2021. The scheme will allow 15 students to pursue BTech, MBBS, BDS, and other degrees from the top 25 Universities. The students who belong to the first category, that is the students who have an annual income of less than Rupees 8 lakh will be getting a scholarship opportunity of 1 crore, and these scholarships will be provided strictly on a merit basis. The preference will be given to the first category students and the selection procedure will consider the ranking of the Institution

RGS Scheme Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must possess a 12th/ graduation/ post-graduation/ Ph.D. degree in the respective discipline from a recognized university/board.
- The applicant must have JanAadhar.
- The age of the applicant should not be more than 35 years as of 1st July
- The applicant should have the domicile certificate of Rajasthan.
- The annual income of the applicant’s family should not be more than INR 8 lakh per annum.
- Only one candidate from one family is eligible to get the grant
Selection Procedure
Selection of the applicants will be made on the basis of a lottery system governed by the RGS Portal if the applications received more than 200.
