A scholarship for physically handicapped students was launched for students with 40% disability in India. To help the student with disability the Government of India has launched this scholarship. Under this scholarship, the student will get financial assistance so that they can continue their education without worrying about any financial problems. The following scholarships are available for physically disabled candidates:-

Post-matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities	This scholarship is available for people who want to take advantage of financial assistance so that they can continue their post-matric education without worrying about financial expenses.
Scholarships for Top-Class Education for Students with Disabilities	Top Class Education scholarships are presented in order to promote quality education. The students will be able to pursue various college courses through this scholarship.
UGC National Fellowship for Persons with Disabilities	The national fellowship program is also known as Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship and it is important for disabled candidates who want to get admission to an MPhil or Ph.D. degree in a university or institution.
AICTE Saksham Scholarship	The Saksham scholarship is one of the most important scholarships which is presented by the Indian government in order to help physically disabled candidates get proper awards.
National Overseas Scholarship for Students with Disabilities to study Abroad	National Overseas scholarship is primarily available for students who want to be a part of international organizations but they are not able to do so because of financial trouble.
Scheme of Free Coaching for Students with Disabilities	Free training scholarship or free coaching scholarship is available for disabled candidates so that they can get coaching for various competitive examinations available in India.

Eligibility Criteria 

The applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria to apply for the scholarship:-

Pre-matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities	The applicant must be studying in class 9th or 10th of a government or government-recognized School. The applicant’s family income must not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh from all sources per annum, More than 20000 scholarships will be provided annually for this scheme. The applicant must have more than 40% disability.
Post-matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities	The annual income of the parents must not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh. The applicant must have more than 40% disability. The applicant must be studying in class 11 to the post-graduation level. The applicant must have passed their matriculation or High Secondary Board examination.
Scholarships for Top-Class Education for Students with Disabilities	The applicant must have more than 40% disability and a valid certificate. The annual family income of the candidates must not exceed Rs 6 lakh.
UGC National Fellowship for Persons with Disabilities	The applicant must be interested in MPhil and Ph.D. courses. The family income of the applicant must not exceed Rs 600000 per annum.
AICTE Saksham Scholarship	The applicant must have more than 40% disability. The applicant must be pursuing a technical degree or diploma courses at AICTE-recognized institutions. The annual income of the candidates must not exceed Rs 8 lakh from also sources.
National Overseas Scholarship for Students with Disabilities to study Abroad	The applicant must be under the age of 35 years. The annual family income of the applicant must not exceed rupees 600000. Only 20 scholarships are available for this scheme. Masters’ Degree / Ph.D. in Engineering, Management, Pure Sciences, and Applied Sciences, Agricultural Sciences and Medicine, Commerce, Accounting and Finance, Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, and Fine Arts. Preference will be given to those who have passed Bachelor’s / Master’s degree with 55% marks and have work experience.
Scheme of Free Coaching for Students with Disabilities	The annual family income of the applicant must not exceed rupees 600000. The applicant must be preparing for various types of entrance examinations.

Benefits Of Scholarship for Physically Handicapped Students 

The applicant will be provided with the following benefits for the various types of physically disabled scholarships:-

Pre-matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities	Day Scholars are given Rs.500. Those staying in hostels are given Rs.800 per month. In addition, a book grant of Rs.1000 / – per annum and a disability allowance of Rs.2000 to Rs.4000 / – will be provided.
Post-matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities	In Group 1, Degrees in Medicine, Engineering / Technology, Planning / Architecture, Fashion, Technology, Management, Business / Finance, Administration, etc., Day Scholars for PG students is Rs.750 / – per month, and Hostellers are paid Rs.1600 per month. Day-scholars studying in Group-2 degree/diploma, pharmacy, LLB, other paramedical branches, etc. are given Rs.700 / – per month and hostellers Rs.1100 / -.BA / BSc / BCom students in Group 3 will be offered Rs 650 per day for day scholars and Rs 950 per month for hostellers. Students pursuing ITI / Vocational / Polytechnic courses in Group-4 will be given Rs.550 / – per day for day scholars and Hostels are offered at a rate of Rs.900.Apart from these, book allowance of Rs.1500 / – per year and disability allowance of Rs.2000 to Rs.4000 / – are provided.
Scholarships for Top-Class Education for Students with Disabilities	College Tuition- Fee Reimbursement will be up to Rs.2 lakh. Daycare Rs.1500/- per month for maintenance expenses and Rs.3000/ – per month for hostellers. Special allowance of Rs.2000/- per month, books and stationery Rs.5000, a one-time grant of Rs.30,000 for the purchase of a computer through Reimbursement.
UGC National Fellowship for Persons with Disabilities	The first two years will be a scholarship for the candidate selected by the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). If the research progress is satisfactory then another three years scholarship will be awarded in the form of a Senior Research Fellowship (SRF).JRF gets a stipend of Rs.25,000 per month and SRF a stipend of Rs 28,000 per month. Contingency is paid annually. If an assistant is needed they will be given Rs.2000 per month accordingly.
AICTE Saksham Scholarship	50000 per annum and other benefits
National Overseas Scholarship for Students with Disabilities to study Abroad	UK Students studying at universities in other countries are entitled to $ 15,400 per year and $ 1500 per year in the form of a contingency allowance.UK Those studying in universities get 9900 GB per year and 1100 GB per year in the form of a contingency allowance. In addition, visa fees, flight charts, medical insurance, etc. are paid in the required amount. Scholarships are available for Ph.D. students for four years and for Master’s degree holders for three years. Maintenance Allowance సంవత్సర 9,900 per year (Great Britain), In Other countries, however, $ 15,400.Apart from these, tuition fees, annual contingency allowances, and air travel expenses are also paid.
Scheme of Free Coaching for Students with Disabilities	Competitive examinations conducted by UPSC, SSC, IBPS, RRB, and Public Service Commissions, and entrance examinations for JEE, NEET CAT, etc. are available at the institute free of cost. Non-local candidates will be paid Rs.7,000 per month for stipend and special allowance and Rs.4,500 per month for local candidates. Another Rs.2000 is provided. If you can’t get any job that year, you can renew for another year.

Scholarship for Physically Handicapped Students 2024 Application Procedure

The applicant must follow the following application procedure to apply for the scholarship:-

• The candidates will first have to visit the Scholarship for Physically Handicapped website of the national scholarship portal by clicking on the link given here

• The home page will open on your screen.
• Click on the option called New Registration

• The instructions will open on your screen. You have to read all of the instructions presented by the national scholarship portal and understand the guidelines. Make sure that you are reading the details related to the disabilities.
• Tick mark the declaration.
• Click on the “Continue” option.
• You have to select the category of your scholarship as displayed on the screen and now continue with the registration procedure.
• Enter all of the details.
• Enter name, date of birth, mobile number, gender, email ID, bank details, etc.
• Enter the captcha code 
• Click the “Register” option.
• Now you have to log in using your credentials. The login details will be present on your email ID or your mobile number.
• Click on the option called Application Form

• The application form will appear on the screen
• Enter details including the State of Domicile, Name of the student, Date of Birth, Community/ Category, Father’s Name, Aadhaar card Number, Mobile Number, Scholarship Category, Gender, Religion, Mother’s Name, Annual Family Income, Email ID, etc.
• Click on “Save & Continue”
• Upload the documents.
• Click on “Final Submission’’
• The application form will successfully submit.
