About UGC Emeritus Fellowship 2023
Under Emeritus Fellowship, UGC provides various benefits to the beneficiaries selected by the Expert Committee. Benefits will be transferred by the authorities directly to the bank account of the beneficiary. The award will be effective from the 1st of April of the election year as per the UGC norms or the actual date of joining in the University/ College/ Institute. Contenders should join the fellowship within 3 months from the date of issue of the Award letter. In case the aspirant is not able to join within 3 months fellowship will be treated canceled.

Objective Of UGC Emeritus Fellowship
The main purpose behind this fellowship scheme is to provide an opportunity to the retired teachers to complete their active research in their respective fields of specialization from Indian Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions.

Duration Of Fellowship
Fellowship duration will be of 2 years or a well-defined time-bound action plan up to the age of 70 years. The fellowship duration will not be extended further under any circumstances.
Transfer Of Research Place
University/College/Institute reserves the right to transfer the research place as per the intimation made by the UGC and designated agency only once during the tenure period.
Eligibility Criteria
- Highly qualified and experienced teachers of recognized universities/ colleges/institutions
- Eligibility of the teachers based on the quality of research and published work in his/her service career.
- The age of the seekers should not be more than 70 years

Cancellation Of Fellowship
Fellowship benefits can stand canceled in the following cases:
- If the applicant is found ineligible at any point in the fellowship duration
- If wrong information is conveyed by the applicant
- Misconduct
- Research work progress is not satisfactory
