Merit Based scholarships
Chancellor’s Academic Merit Scholarship
Based on grades, the Chancellor’s Academic Merit Scholarship is awarded. Unless your second and/or final year of study is in the UK, the scholarship will be awarded to all years of study, including our student exchange year in the UK. This includes BSc and MSci biomedical science, MEng mechanical engineering, MEng computer science, and software engineering. Your bachelor’s degree will determine your eligibility for the Chancellor’s Academic Merit Scholarship for our postgraduate programs. The scholarship will be awarded based on the grading scheme. For example, the scholarship from ABC will be thirty percent scholarship 20% of scholarships 10% of scholarships, correspondingly
- Eligibility Criteria; Those who pay their tuition deposit of 5,000 AED by a certain date will receive an advanced award of 10% on top of their academic scholarship, demonstrating their readiness for university life.
Provost’s Academic Scholarship(invitation only
Recipients of our 50% funded Provost’s Academic Scholarship are exceptional students who meet the highest requirements for academic achievement. There is no need to apply because all offers are considered; this is a special award that is given out by invitation only. 50% of the total tuition costs—which could exceed AED 150,000—will be awarded as awards. By Monday, September 9, 2024, you will receive a direct contact if you are qualified. The students will receive the scholarship based on their grades and merit.

Emirati Excellence Scholarship (invitation only)
Outstanding Emirati students will only be awarded the Emirati Excellence Scholarship upon invitation. The scholarship will be worth 50% in the first year and 20% in each succeeding year. Only applies to nationals of the United Arab Emirates. There is no need to apply because all offers are considered; this is a special award that is given out by invitation only. Successful candidates must present proof of the Emirati family book. By Monday, September 9, 2024, you will receive a direct contact if you are qualified.

Jinan University – University of Birmingham Joint Institute Scholarship
A unique scholarship is available to students who graduate from the Jinan University – the University of Birmingham Joint Institute (JBJI). Also in Guangzhou is the Jinan University – University of Birmingham Joint Institute Scholarship. Depending on academic achievement, these scholarships for postgraduate studies at the University of Birmingham Dubai range from 20% to 30% for all years of study:
- Graduates from JBJI who receive a first will be qualified for a 30% scholarship.
- Graduates from JBJI who earn a 2:1 are qualified for a 25% scholarship.
- Graduates from JBJI who earn a 2:2 are qualified for a 20% scholarship.
- Eligibility criteria; The candidate must be enrolled at the University of Birmingham in Dubai and have received an offer from the institution.

- Alumni Connections Scholarship; 20% of Alumni Relations Scholarships are given to the parents, siblings, and spouses of alumni, and they apply to all academic years. Only family members of students who have completed the program from Dubai or Edgbaston are eligible, and a copy of the alum’s University of Birmingham degree certificate is required.
- Eligibility criteria; The applicant must be enrolled at the University of Birmingham in Dubai and have received an offer from the university to be eligible to apply for The University of Birmingham Dubai Scholarship.
- Corporate Scholarship; For all academic years, our 30% Corporate Scholarship is available to our most important partners (Dubai Police, Al Futtaim Education, RTA). You need to present an employee card as proof.
- Eligibility criteria; applicants who are employees in corporate sectors will be given this scholarship.

Selection Process
- Students pursuing bachelor’s, master’s, or master’s certificate degrees who can show both a strong academic record and the ability to make a positive contribution to the university community are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
- This scholarship is merit-based and will only be awarded once. You can use the scholarship money toward tuition.
- UAE Dirham 12029 is the maximum scholarship amount that can be awarded to a student.
