The goal of the Mathematics Olympiad is to stimulate enthusiasm and love for mathematics to strengthen mathematical intuition, foster mathematical creativity, and provide satisfaction, joy, and thrill of meeting challenges. Benefits of IIT Bombay Maths Olympiad
The students who appear and perform well in the IIT Bombay Maths Olympiad get several benefits apart from the cash prize and the certificate they also get a chance to appear for more and bigger olympiads. The Olympiads are important and beneficial, they give a platform to students of different schools and boards to come together and test their skills. Since the syllabus of the Olympiad is the same for everyone, the students get a fair and equal platform to challenge and strengthen their knowledge.
The candidate who qualifies for the math olympiad can also pursue a UG course in mathematics at IIT Bombay without appearing for JEE. They have to appear for the entrance test. Their performance in the test will determine their admission to the course.
Rewards under IIT Bombay Maths Olympiad
- The participants in the top 10 percentile will be given certificates of Merit.
- The best 5 performers of each level will be awarded a total cash prize of 5 thousand to be distributed based on rank.
- All the participants will receive participation certificates by mail.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, the aspirants have to be students of schools with recognized boards. They can belong to any part of India. The event is going to be conducted online this year and thus the candidates can participate from anywhere.
Level 1- Students from standards VIII, IX, and X of any recognized board.
Level 2- Students from standards XI and XII of any recognized board.
Guidelines for IIT Bombay Maths Olympiad
- The exam is going to be conducted online mode.
- The participants can take the exam from anywhere.
- They must use a laptop/ mobile with a working webcam.
- The duration of the exam is 2 hours.
- The exam timings are 8:30 to 11:30 am. A window of an extra hour is given to the students to log in. No student will be allowed to log in after 9:30 am.
- Any kind of misconduct will result in immediate disqualification.

The Mathematics Olympiad has two levels- Level 1 and Level 2.
- Level 1 is for classes VIII-X
- Level 2 is for classes XI-XII

MO 2023 Level 1
Level 1 is conducted for students from classes VIII-X and consists of questions from the following topics.

IIT Bombay Mathematics Olympiad Registration Fee
- The registration fee for all the candidates is INR 150.
- There is no exemption in the registration fee for any candidate.
