The Music Institute offers a lot of different types of scholarship programs to help students get proper financial funds so that they can pay for their tuition. The students can take admitted to the MI college of contemporary music and then they will be successfully eligible to apply for the Music Scholarship available by the institution to each and every student. The students can fill out the application form for the scholarship from the official website. This scholarship is available for both newly enrolled students and also currently enrolled students. Requirements For Music Scholarship

The following details are required to apply for this scholarship:-

  • Artist Producer Entrepreneur Scholarship
    • Scholarship applicants must apply to a MI program and submit the Admissions Application to be considered for a scholarship. 
    • The total scholarship amount will be divided by the total number of quarters in the particular program and credited toward each quarter’s tuition in equal amounts for as long as the student maintains a 2.75 GPA.
    • Scholarships are non-transferable, and may not be applied to any person, program, or start date other than the one for which it was awarded.
  • Development Scholarship
    • Scholarship applicants must apply to a MI program and submit the Admissions Application to be considered for a scholarship.
    • Complete applications must be received by the scholarship due date. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
    • The total scholarship amount will be divided by the total number of quarters in the particular program and credited toward each quarter’s tuition in equal amounts for as long as the student maintains satisfactory academic progress.
    • Scholarships are non-transferable, and may not be applied to any person, program, or start date other than the one for which it was awarded.
    • Applicant must have completed federal financial aid application by the appropriate due date.
  • Hardship Scholarship
    • Scholarship applicants must apply to a MI program and submit the Admissions Application to be considered for a scholarship.
    • Students must apply for and accept all other student aid for which he/she is eligible prior to apply for a Hardship Scholarship. The hardship Scholarship award may not be used to replace student aid funding.
    • This is a one-time award applied as tuition credit to the upcoming quarter’s balance of your certificate or degree program (Select and Select Express programs are not eligible).
    • Scholarships are non-transferable, and may not be applied to any person, program, or start date other than the one for which it was awarded.
    • This scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarships offered at MI. If a student receives another scholarship from MI, which is higher in amount, the student will forfeit this scholarship.
  • International Musicians Merit Scholarship
    • Scholarship applicants must apply to a program at MI and have submitted the Admissions Application to be considered for a scholarship.   
    • The total scholarship amount will be divided by the total number of quarters in the particular program and credited toward each quarter’s tuition in equal amounts for as long as the student maintains a 2.75 GPA.
    • Scholarships are non-transferable, and may not be applied to any person, program, or start date other than the one for which it was awarded.
  • Independent Artist Scholarship
    • Scholarship applicants must apply to a program at MI and have submitted the Admissions Application to be considered for a scholarship. 
    • The total scholarship amount will be divided by the total number of quarters in the particular program and credited toward each quarter’s tuition in equal amounts for as long as the student maintains a 2.75 GPA.
    • Scholarships are non-transferable, and may not be applied to any person, program, or start date other than the one for which it was awarded.
  • Music Business Program Entrepreneur Scholarship
    • Scholarship applicants must apply to a program at MI and have submitted the Admissions Application to be considered for a scholarship.
    • The scholarship is credited toward the first quarter of the program as long as the student maintains satisfactory academic progress.

    • YouTube video URL: YouTube video must contain a minimum: of three (3) diverse songs (in any style or genre on your instrument/voice). It is required that this include two (2) ensemble (live band or duo, and/or pre-recorded play-along tracks format or looper) performances; and one (1) unaccompanied solo (or a capella) performance (No play-along tracks will be accepted for the solo piece). You may use electric and/or acoustic instruments.     • The total scholarship award will be $1,000 credits toward the first quarter of the program.
Terms And Conditions

The applicant must follow the following terms and conditions to apply for this scholarship:-

  • Scholarships are non-transferable, and may not apply to any person, program, or enrollment date other than the one for which it awards.
  • To qualify for a new student scholarship you need to submit your admissions application and deposit first.
  • Scholarships are awarded in the form of tuition credit only.
  • The total award amount will determine after a review of your application.
  • The total award amount is divided by the number of quarters in your program and credited equally toward each quarter’s tuition (except MI Hardship Scholarship; which is a one-time award).
  • MI Scholarships are available only to students enrolling in a new program. Before you may submit a scholarship application, you must have a Letter of Acceptance from MI’s Admission Department.
  • Scholarship applications are available from the Financial Aid Office or Admissions Department or by downloading from this site.
  • Completed applications submitted by the appropriate deadline will review and applicants will be notified of the results within two weeks after the deadline.
  • All scholarships are non-transferable and may not apply to any person, program, or start date other than those for which they were originally awarded.
  • Scholarship recipients who fail to meet minimum academic requirements during their enrollment will forfeit any remaining award balance (see scholarship applications for specific requirements).
Eligibility Criteria 

The applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria to apply for the various scholarships:-

  • Artist Producer Entrepreneur Scholarship
    • Available to International Students and US Citizens.
    • It may be applied to the Artist Producer Entrepreneur Program only. (MI Select program is not eligible.)
    • Available to students enrolling in the program for the first time. 
  • Development Scholarship
    • Available to U.S. citizens and permanent residents only.
    • Based on demonstrated financial need as well as academic history.
    • May be applied to any Musicians Institute Certificate or Degree program (MI Select and Select Express are not eligible).
    • Applicants must be accepted into a qualified program.
  • Hardship Scholarship
    • Enrolled currently in any MI Certificate, AA Degree, or BM Degree program.
    • Must have verifiable financial needs.
    • Available to all Certificate, Associate, and Bachelor program students who have completed at least one quarter in the same program for which they are applying for the Hardship Scholarship.
    • Available only to students enrolled in a Certificate, Associate, or Bachelor program (Select and Select Express programs are not eligible).
    • Eligibility is determined by a combination of demonstrated financial need, academic standing (minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75), and the quality and content of the scholarship essay.
    • Students’ tuition balance along with available scholarship funds and other factors will be considered to determine the amount of the award.
  • International Musicians Merit Scholarship
    • Available to International students with a valid F-1 visa only.
    • May be applied to a Certificate or Degree in Guitar, Bass, Vocal, Drum, or Keyboard Performance programs or a Degree in the Music Composition program. (MI Select and MI Select Express programs are not eligible.)
    • Available to newly enrolled students only. 
  • Independent Artist Scholarship
    • Available to International Students and US Citizens.
    • May be applied to the Independent Artist Program only. (MI Select program is not eligible.)
    • Available to newly enrolled students only.
  • Music Business Program Entrepreneur Scholarship
    • Available to international students and U.S. citizens.
    • May only be applied to the Music Business Program.
    • Available to newly enrolled students only. Returning students in any MI program are not eligible.
  • Musicianship Scholarship
    • Available to International Students and US Citizens.
    • May be applied to a Certificate or Degree in Guitar, Bass, Vocal, Drum, or Keyboard Performance programs or a Degree in the Music Composition program. (MI Select and MI Select Express programs are not eligible.)
    • Available to newly enrolled students only.
  • International Outreach Scholarship
    • During the Live Audition
  • Schecter Nick Johnston Guitar Scholarship
    • Available to international students and U.S. citizens.
    • May only be applied to the Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Music in Performance (Guitar) Program. Certificate, MI Select, AS, MM, or other programs are not eligible.
    • Newly enrolled and currently enrolled/or returning students are eligible.
    • Previous winners of this scholarship are not eligible.
  • Scott Bennett Memorial Guitar Scholarship
    • Available to international students and U.S. citizens.
    • May only be applied to the Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Music in Performance (Guitar) Program. Other programs are not eligible.
    • Newly enrolled and currently enrolled/returning students are eligible.
  • Steve Fox Memorial Guitar Scholarship
    • Available to international students and U.S. citizens.
    • May only be applied to the Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Music in Performance (Guitar) Program. Certificate, MI Select, AS, MM, or other programs are not eligible.
    • Newly enrolled and currently enrolled/or returning students in any MI program are eligible.
    • Prior winners of this scholarship are not eligible.
  • Melodic Soloing Guitar Scholarship
    • New or currently enrolled AA, B.M.or M.M. (Guitar) students only.
    • Available to international students and U.S. citizens.
    • Previous winners of this scholarship are not eligible.
  • Joe Bonamassa Blues Guitar Scholarship
    • New or currently enrolled AA, B.M. or M.M. (Guitar) students only.
    • Available to international students and U.S. citizens.
    • May only be applied to the Associate of Arts, Bachelor of Music, and Master of Music in Performance (Guitar) Programs. 
  • D’addario Women In Guitar Scholarship
    • Available to international students and U.S. citizens.
    • The scholarship is applicable to female students only.
    • Newly enrolling and currently enrolled (Guitar) students only.
    • May be applied to the Associate of Arts, Bachelor of Music, and Master of Music in Performance (Guitar) Programs only.
    • Previous winners of this scholarship are not eligible.
  • Schecter Michael Anthony Bass Scholarship
    • Available to international students and U.S. citizens.
    • May only be applied to the Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Music in Performance (Bass) Program. Certificate, MI Select, AS, MM, or other programs are not eligible.
    • Newly enrolled and currently enrolled/or returning students are eligible.
    • Previous winners of this scholarship are not eligible.
  • D’Addario Foundation Women In Drums Scholarship
    • Available to international students and U.S. citizens.
    • May only be applied to the Associate of Arts in Performance (AA Drum) Program and Bachelor of Music in Performance Studies (Drum)
    • Newly enrolling, and current/returning students are eligible.
    • Previous winners of this scholarship are not eligible.
  • Hosa Technology Audio Engineering Scholarship
    • Available to international students and U.S. citizens.
    • May only be applied to the Audio Engineering Program.
    • Current/returning students in any MI program are not eligible.
    • Previous winners of this scholarship are not eligible.
  • Pajwell Foundation Bachelor Of Music Performance Scholarship
    • Available to international students and U.S. citizens.
    • May be applied to Bachelor of Music in Performance Studies Program, Bass, Guitar, Drums, Vocal or Keyboard students only.
    • Newly enrolling and current/returning students are eligible.
    • Previous winners of this scholarship are not eligible.
  • N.W. Dible Foundation Songwriting Scholarship
    • Available to international students and U.S. citizens.
    • May be applied to any MI program at the AA or B.M. level.
