SERB POWER Fellowship 2024: Apply Online and Check Last Date

SERB POWER Fellowship 2024 was launched by the Science and Engineering Research Board organization. To help the women scientists of India to research so that they can easily get a job. This fellowship is available for all the excellent women researchers who are currently active scientists. The duration of this fellowship is 3 years without any extension. Overview of SERB POWER Fellowship

To help meritorious women from financial backgrounds and families the Science and Engineering Research Board has launched the Science and Engineering Research Board POWER Fellowship. Under this Fellowship, the student will get research opportunities so that they can get a perfect job. The students will be taught leadership skills and other basic skills under this fellowship. All the selected candidates for this Fellowship will be provided with INR 15000 per month as a monthly stipend. Along with that, the candidates will also get INR 10 lakh per annum for minor equipment manpower, consumables, contingencies, and domestic trouble. The selection under this Fellowship will be done on a nomination basis by the heads of institutions and fellows of National academies.

Objective of POWER Fellowship

The main objective of the POWER Fellowship is to encourage women researchers to implement their innovative ideas, discoveries, and inventions. This fellowship aims to build confidence in women researchers and remove the gender disparity in science and engineering research. The selected students will be able to work toward improving their excellent record of research performance. Students will get a lot of experience from this scholarship and be able to develop better career options. It will help in providing effort to enhance diversity in research to ensure equal access and weighted opportunities for Indian women.

Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant must be above the age of 35 years and less than the age of 55 years
• The applicant must hold a PhD degree in any branch of science and engineering
• The student must be an active scientist with an excellent record of research performance
• Applicant was not receiving any other Fellowship from the government from any source.

Reward Details

• The nominee will also get overheads for the host institute.

Selection Process

• The candidates will be selected on the basis of the eligibility criteria
• The Candidates who are above the age of 35 years and less than 55 years old will be selected under this Fellowship.
• To get selected for this scholarship the student must hold a PhD degree.
• The selection of the candidate will be made twice a year by a specially constituted Search-cum-Selection Committee.
