About ISHAN UDAY Scholarship 2024 for NER

Ishan Udhay Scholarship for NER has been launched by the University Grant Commission under MHRD to promote higher education in the region of NER. The main aim of launching the ISHAN UDAY Scholarship for NER is to provide financial assistance to students who are pursuing general degree courses, technical courses, and professional courses so as to encourage them to make their future better. Not only to provide final assistance but the other main aim of this scholarship is also to increase the gross enrollment ratio for NER students.

Objective Of ISHAN UDAY Scholarship

As we all know there are many students that belong to the NE region and in these regions, the preference is not given to the education of the student who wants to pursue higher studies. By keeping this in mind, the University Grants Commission under MHRD has launched a new scholarship scheme known as the ISHAN UDAY Scholarship. The main objective of launching this scheme is to promote higher education in the NER region so that the gross enrollment ratio for the NER student increases. another mean object of launching this scheme is to provide equal opportunities for Higher Education among the children of NER so that they would be able to stand on their own feet

Number Of Scholarship

Every year the concerned authority reveals around 10,000 fresh scholarships at the beginning of the Academics.  These scholarships are for various courses like general degree courses technical degree courses professional degree courses and that include medical paramedical courses that are certified by the Registrar/ Principal/ Director of the University/ College/ Institute. The students who belong to the NER region can avail the benefit of ISHAN UDAY Scholarship for further education.

Scholarship Rewards

The following rewards to avail of the benefit under the ISHAN UDAY Scholarship are given below

• Students who are pursuing the general courses will get a scholarship of Rs. 5,400 per month
• The candidates who have enrolled themselves in the professional and technical courses will get a scholarship of Rs 7,800 per month
• The scholarship amount will directly be transferred into the bank account of the candidates through the dbt mode

Selection Criteria Of Scholarship

The following selection criteria are required to avail the benefit of the ISHAN UDAY Scholarship

• Around 10,000 scholarships will be given by the UGC every year.
• If there are more than 10000 candidates, then the selection will depend on the performance of the student
• More preference will be given to the student who has scored good marks in their 12th examination

Eligibility Criteria

The following eligibility criteria are required to apply under the ISHAN UDAY Scholarship

• Only undergraduate students are eligible to apply under the scheme
• The candidate must have a domicile in North Eastern Region
• An applicant must have completed class 12th from any recognized school college university in the eastern region that includes CBSE ICSE and NIOS
• The candidate must have taken admission in professional General or technical courses in UGC approved college institution
• If students have taken admitted in integrated courses, then candidates can avail the benefit of this scholarship.
• The annual family income should not exceed more than Rs. 4.5 lakhs.

Non-Eligible Candidates

The following candidates shall not be eligible under this scheme

• Students who are pursuing courses through open University
• The candidate who already has a scholarship for pursuing the undergraduate program
• The candidates who have taken admitted through the management quota
• An applicant who is pursuing diploma courses which not lead to the award of a degree
• Students whose parents’ income exceeds more than Rs. 4.5 lakh per annum

Change Mobile Number

• Enter the registered mobile number in the given box.

View Application Status

Search Institute/School/ITI Registered with NSP

• The home page will appear in front of you
• Now click on the Search Institute option.
• A new page will open on the screen where you had to select your Institute, state, district, institute college, and school college ITI name.

• Now click on the get institution list option.
• The details will open on the screen.

View Scheme Eligibility

• The home page will appear in front of you
• Now click on the Scheme Eligibility option.
• A new page will open on the screen where you have to select your domicile state, course level, religion, caste/community, gender.

• Now select your parent’s annual income and select whether you are disabled or not.
• Now click on the check eligibility option.
• The eligibility details will open on the screen.

Download NSP App

• First, visit the Official Website of the National Scholarship Portal
• The home page will appear in front of you
• Now click on the Get it on Google Play option.

• A new page will open on the screen where you have to click on the Install option.
• The application will be downloaded to your device.

Track NSP Payment

• To know your payment, the applicant has to open the official website of pfms.
• The homepage of the website will open on the screen.

• Now from the homepage, click on the Track NSP Payment option.
• Enter the bank name, account number, or NSP application ID.

• Now click on the search option.
• The NSP payment details will open on the screen.

Know Your Payment

• To know your payment, the applicant has to open the official website of pfms.
• The homepage of the website will open on the screen.
• Now from the homepage, go to the know your payment option.
• A new page with an application form will open.

• Now on this page, you have to enter the details in the application form.
